I have no idea what to expect today after last year and the subsequent aftermath.

We have no idea how the Debutants will perform in the heat of battle, The draw now is just a dogs breakfast, will GW$ be better for the run??

I am so angry that teams begin on different weeks!!

Look ‘em in the eyes Max

Suspect Clarry and his protege Harvey will be like two pigs in [censored] today

Get the hard ball and bang it long!

Expect Maxy to punch from the ruck too

Like to see our forwards straight-line it to space, giving Clarry, Tracca and coy something to stab at with the smalls in support and hungry.

Lousy situation, but a bloody good replacement with a big heart and required talents.

Harvey Langford sub

Hate this. Let debutants get out there and have the proper experience and show of confidence.

Sucks May is injured by TMac is a superb replacement.

Understand the logic of prioritising Henderson over Langford as Pickett's missing but still surprised!

TMac’s a perfect replacement but our chances take a hit with May missing.

How did he get a fractured larynx? How have we had two of those in 3 months?

Edit: club has said it was a knock at training on Friday, but it’s not currently thought to be as bad as Gawn’s.

hate debutants being the subs

hate that may will miss a significant chunk of the season as a result of a fractured larynx

when was the last time a team had TWO players with that injury??

Langford sub is a huge surprise as these conditions would suit him.

Really thought Hendersen would've been given the green vest.

Just now, whatwhat say what said:

Gawn only missed a few weeks

Told ya tmac was a lock.

Many clubs have been decimated with pre season injuries. WTF is going on with the system?

Anyone one have any insight on when the May injury happened? Surely not at the Captain's run

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
