The kind of content I've been pleading for..

Great stuff.

Yep, finally, some great content there. Well done, MFC.

Some great content, hopefully more of this going forward.

Those boys are genuinely excited!  So am I!

Probably just me but geez I find Goodwin awkward in this clip. Anyway who cares…

Great to see the excitement from both boys, especially Langford. He’s like a giddy little kid.

The 11pm post draft footage got had me up and about!

Xav dropped the F bomb a lot so he’s my early favourite

They both seem so genuine, it was a great watch.

Anything could happen but i’m getting Gus/Trac type positive vibes

So it looks like we had the 6 Langford and 11 Lindsay jumpers ready to go. That's pretty interesting, we must have had good intel on what other clubs were planning to do.

Pick 6 for Langford was probably predictable since we were the ones to bid Ashcroft. We must have known the Crows would take Draper. Cal Twomey was rock solid on this before they made the pick.

11 for Lindsay is a bigger get, we must have known the Saints would bid Lombard and take Travaglia and Tauru. And that Richmond would take Smilie.

All probably predictable but interesting nevertheless.

2 deadset Rippers by the looks.

The cameo from Smillie and the little cuddle with Tauru (thr 2 gippsland boys)  - they look like great blokes as well. Hope our 2 can get them across as well in a couple of 😉

No, they do print on the spot the moment their names are dropped. I've seen first hand the machine they work with.

It's a pretty easy and quick process.which doesn't take them that long to get their names a pick on these.

So much more engaging seeing players be themselves rather than trying to concoct answers to statements-masquerading-as-questions like "you must be excited to be drafted to the Demons"!

That was great vision and you can actually feel part of their excitement.

Just quietly, to have a pick 11 jumper with the names on so fast... either we had a machine ready to go on site,  they had  a bit of a guess and did 5 or 6 jumpers or the drafting team knows absolutely down to a t what they are doing!!!

Fantastic content and access. Fell off my chair when Langford listed Braveheart as his favourite film. I probably would have said the same at his age, but that was nearly 30 years ago! 🤣

Loved it. Had to watch it twice. Good to see a lighter side to Harvey, too. They seem great kids. Everything about the Dees seems new and improved. The last couple of years I've just wanted the season to start to stop the noise. This time I'm hanging to start the noise. What a different vibe it is.

As HL said, bring on 2025!

Well put. When you show people being themselves and reacting genuinely, rather than saying what they think they need to say, you're halfway to something interesting and worth watching.

Great content!

But it’s now clear, as someone who doesn’t like being touched, I never would have made it in the AFL.

A wonderful video!

Now THIS is the type of Social Media we want to see from the Melbourne Football Club.

Well done! 😎👍🏻

excellent content

could have been split up into multi-eps to stretch the cotent into 3x 3 min stories told over the course of a week as opposed to 1x 9 min story

now the trick is to keep it going - follow these two throughout their 2025 journey and make it regular content to see a week in the life of a rookie sort of thing

As previously mentioned this is the quality and type of social media that we all crave, a look behind the scenes as it is actually happening. I watched it on my phone and loved it, this morning I watched it on Utube and enjoyed it even more. I loved the way they interacted with each other and everyone around them, never phased just so happy to be involved in all activities, they conveyed the excitement they were feeling and great to see all the great people behind the scenes. Loved - what what say what suggested to track these two throughout 2025 adding in the youngsters that are already in the loop as they evolve.

After reading commentary that Langford would rip someones arm off to get the footy it was pleasing and appropriate to see his favourite movie is Braveheart.

I  can't wait for all the Richmond ferals to ponder why they didn't take him with the first pick.

Agree it was an interesting little clip.  One moment that stood out to me in a bad way was that scene when they take the group photo / 'media op' with all the other 1st round draftees.  "Now have a fake laugh and have a chat to the guy next to you" - comes across so very fake stage managed moment and the way first round draftees are herded through the whole media circus really grated on me.

Conversely that scene between Jason Taylor, Lindsay and Reece Conca in the corridor was a ripper I thought.  Lindsay talking about the call he'd got the day of the draft from JT and then Conca exclaiming "I didn't get a call from you", to which JT sharply replies "because I wasn't picking you!".  Comes across as a bit of a funny quick witted jib/backhander, which I think it is in a sense, but looking back at the 2010 draft, Collingwood didn't get their first pick until 45, so it's probably quite a blunt, honest answer from JT straight off the cuff at the same time.  Speaking of which, the post draft interview with JT as always, is a bit of media put out by the club that is a good listen.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
