Congratulations to Trent 'Not Jared' Rivers who will line up for game no. 100 against Collingwood on Friday night. He's set to become only the fourth player from his draft year so far to crack the ton after Noah Anderson, Caleb Serong and of course, our very own Kozzy Pickett!

Based on his midfield performances this year, I think it's safe to assume that he's only scratched the surface of what he's capable of and that the next 100 games are going to be pretty exciting to watch.

Here's a quick snapshot from early in his career where he booted his first AFL goals (including the match-winner) at the Gabba in a thriller against the Giants!

What are your favourite moments from Trent's career to date?

Rivs developing well. Future captain material. My son was born few days before this match and watched it in hospital, always will remember that crazy, bending goal to seal it by Riv and thought to myself 'this has been a good week' 😍 Here's to many more games in the red and blue ❤️💙

This kid is the future. Congratulations Trent, I love watching you give your all.

Gonna need two banners this week, @WalkingCivilWar and you other DA/'Landers?! 😊

I hope this kid has a large wardrobe, because I see an AA jacket or two in his future.

Really love watching him develop.

A clear favourite of mine. Has all the traits you want to see imo

Likewise.  Hope he stays around with us for a very long time.

Should be banned from ever attempting a kick that goes less than 40 metres, nevertheless he will be our next CHAMPION midfielder!

Pick 32 from memory?!

Amazing recruitment and development

He is such a confident man. Has the height and skill to be a gun mid and mr. utility as well.

A key piece of the puzzle

My ‘big call’ a few years back was that he would be the best of our ‘19 Draft haul.  A few bumps along the way but he has shown he has the potential to a be an a-grade midfielder on this year’s form.

Seems to love the club and the fans love him too!

@WalkingCivilWar special banner coming this Friday? Imagine it'll include ANB and BBB.

… and Riv’s 100th which is very worthy of celebration 🥳

The club will provide the content tomorrow and we’ll make it tomorrow night.

I just love watchimg the unbridled attack, driving of legs and finding his way into space.  Plus the smile and the enthusiasm he brought to the club.

Sensational.

Yes he 'has been' a tad wayward with the disposal at times.

But i've seen the signs, especially after being moved into the middle, that he's been working on this aspect and slowly starting to turn the corner.

It's been an amazing 100 and hard to believe really.  A flag in that lot as well and played an integral part of it throughout the 2021 season.

A bit of an off year in 2022 but hit back hard in 2023 which is a good sign of a player maturing upstairs and understanding what's required at this level.

Followed that up with another solid season so far.

Congrats young Riv.  Hope to see your happy face on the podium again at some point.

Been one of my personal favourite recruits since he joined. Loved his development to this point, only see bigger things for him in the near future.

Seems like the first 100 have come up in no time.  Could potentially become another 300 game champion of the club.

Would really love to see him used in more attacking goal kicking roles rolling through from midfield and letting his raking left foot set sail for home from outside 50.  Is a perfect give to handball for players from a stationary position/fee kick/mark 55m out as well and would like to see him do more of that.

It doesn’t seem that long ago that we celebrated his 50th. Now we’re celebrating ‘100 Dashing Games’ ❤️💙

He's a right footer though.

Pedant, I know.

Congratulations Trent Rivers your first 100 seems to have come up so quick, young Premiership player who made the back flank his own, now pushing into the midfield and owning that as well. Trent plays with intent, tough, hard, fast, intelligent and skilled with a great personality and love of our club. What’s not to love about this young man.

It was bad enough that the Melbourne Football Club created yet another humiliating scenario inside its wretched season at Marvel Stadium last Sunday, but the final insult is that it has been commanded to return to the scene of the crime to inflict further punishment on its fans this week. Incidentally, if this match preview, of a game that promises to be one of the most unattractive fixtures in the history of the game, happens to cut out of your computer screen three quarters of the way through, it’s no coincidence. I’ll be mirroring the Demons’ lacklustre effort against St Kilda from last Sunday when they conceded the largest last quarter turnaround for victory in the history of the game.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.
