Well I've been wanting to see Fullarton in for a while, guess it's happening then.

If it’s an ankle , then why did they strap his calf??

Who will Steven May kick out to then after a behind?

Seriously though its not the ruckwork we'll miss, its the around the ground marking Max does and when he gets back to help out in defence.

We are so stuffed on saturday. If only we had someone that was well established to replace him. Oh wait.

Lol...don't go there...  the painful past can do you no favour.

We're just a little bit in the doo doo :(

A lot saying Fullerton, surely it's Verral?

Personally I'd be bringing in Verral and Petty if he is good to go.  Basically have Petty play up the ground for our marking option and Verral mainly focusing on stoppages and marking Draper if he pushes deep.

Definitely Petty now. He’s a needed marking target.

I’ve not seen Fullarton play, but if he was remotely considered an option then it should’ve been last week. It was clearly a game to rest Max with limited minutes. (I said this before the game, as did others)

I’d play Tomlinson. He’s rucked before and, more importantly, can cover the defensive role where Gawn is so vital.

He’s agile, which will make the midfield dynamic and he’s fit enough to nullify Draper and Goldstein around the ground.

Are we going to play Fullerton? Draper will murder him. This is bad timing but surely the coaches have a plan for this? Essendon must be beaten.

Wouldn't think so

If not Fullerton then TMac as Ruck and bring in Tommo? Protect JvR at all cost.

Maybe TMac. If he can still jump?

Would be incredible if we sent in JvR and is injured as a result.

Just give Draper & Co the kind of the treatment that Max cops week in / week out.  They’ll sook about it, and go to water!

Don’t think Verral has the tank to play a full game in the ruck against two super experienced big bodies rucks.

Why oh why did we recruit Fullerton if we don’t play him when Gawn is injured? He’s not on our list for any other reason.

why is everyone assuming petty is ok to come in? he is so injury prone, i would say the chance of another week out is high

We have to Play unpredictable.

The Coaching Staff were happy to let Grundy go for nothing, so let’s see them come up with a Plan B that works….

We can beat the Dons without the Cap and if we do, it will be FN sweet.

The injury occured through contact at a centre bounce.

I think both TMac and JVR need to play their main roles for the majority of the game for us to win so I’d rather see someone come in and just try to make a contest in the ruck, but mids to rove off Draper.

Haven’t watched any Casey so no idea who is the better option out of Fullarton/Verrall.

The plan will be to play Fullarton and cross fingers and toes that he passes off as an AFL ruckman.

He has played 17 senior games. He is no rookie on his first game. This is the exact reason he is on the list. In the games I have seen is as quick as any ruckman and better than a lot, he can take a mark and score goals. Play the guy or move him on at season's end.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
