He was tagged by 29.  Who had hardly any of it himself

A player so incredible he’s been in the papers all week looking for a trade, with everyone wondering how the hell he’s going to get a game somewhere else when he can barely get one for north

For those bagging Oliver, watch the reply. No, he is not at his best and it wasn't great by him, but he was held, scragged, pushed away from the contest by players facing away from the play, and huge Xerri was sometimes the 2nd player in on top of him.

Loved the Kynan Brown tackle. Well done son. I loved it when the camera panned to dad - Ooze and Daniel Ward either side of him were going off their heads but poor old Doggy was crapping his dacks. I could relate.

Don't blame the umpires, we were garbage in that last quarter. Look within

So were the umpires.....all one way

May was a match winner. Larkey is a star and was invisible.  Most important player in the team . Rising 33 and he is irreplaceable. Champion.

He was very good but also seems down on confidence and form. Just going through the motions.

Take the four points, because we won’t be getting many more this season. But jeez… we suck.

Maybe West Coast?

One more surprise win potentially, but no more than 8 more points.

Ladder predictor has us at 12th.

Meh.

We are an absolute shadow of our former self and its a sad state of affairs watching perform the way that we did.

I'm scared for next week.

Tholstrup playing his second game really showed a bit. Thought Rivers also lifted his work rate and played very well.

Not the disaster so many are wanting to paint it as.

Tholstrup good early before fading

Rivers needs to be into the midfield permanently

Yep he would have been had Gus not been retired and Oliver would have played 8-10 games at Casey too.

On the TV it looked like it, maybe the MCC had the majority of our supporters. On the AFL members side it did look like dominated by North supporters.

At the ground we outnumbered them 3 to 1, if not more.

I can’t handle people saying ‘on the TV’ and then having a crack at our supporters. The MCG is open to all.

I can only imagine the Collingwood fans last week. reigning premiers and only won by 1 point

Assume they didn’t celebrate or sing the song?

Our fans are a bunch of sooks.

Don't know what was worse, England's performance after Kane's goal or us after half time.

There are many parallels to draw between England FC and the Dees. Fantastic list on paper, but no rhythm and seem to play weighed down under a cloud of expectation.

Garbage final quarter.

Potentially our last win for the year.

Slow, unfit, average skills, no discernable method or team rules, no midfield depth.

What a shambles.

Goodwin probably happy with himself after that win.

Sure, umps had a few howlers but not scoring at all in a final quarter is pathetic.

I am gobsmacked by that. Scoreless in the last quarter. Holding the ball whenever we had it on the wing and letting them flood.

We have zero confidence. Zero synergy. No structure.

We are poorly coached and playing like huge plodders. We are bottom 4 the way we are playing.

We’re playing a host of under 22’s, have Oliver hugely out of form and Petracca out. I think we’ll finish bottom 6 but your post is over the top. Currently we aren’t that good but there’s talent on the field.

We are not the team we were. Clearly.

A third of our team are kids. We doesn’t deserve to be favourites against any expect the bottom few.

Lets develop the kids, try to lay down a decent game plan and plan for the future

28,000 people. Outnumbered by the 18th team and a minnow of the competition.

Our supporters drop their bundle very, very quickly.

And yes, we played some very ordinary football, but are you a supporter or not?

Another ugly, North supporters were incredibly loud at the ground where as we heard crickets from our fans.

Ouch.

Free kicks were 24 to 27. Had nothing to do with how we capitulated in that last quarter. You can blame the coach and team trying to protect the lead. Pathetic

I've seen plenty of games where I thought the umpires were trying to get a side over the line , but I don't think I've ever seen anything as blatant as tonight

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
