4 - Riv

3 - Salem

2 - Kozzie

1 - ANB

Our goal kicking was half censored again, Kozzie and Fritta could have gotten us back in the game but NO 3.8 between them, where is the Care where is the Dare where are the Skills?????????

6- ANB

5- Gawn

4- Rivers

3 - Kozzie

2 - TMAc

1 - Salem

6. Gawn. Dominant around ground.

5. McDonald. Best defender today by miles, playing his best footy in years.

4. JvR. Took lots of strong marks, not enough support by the other talls.

3. Langdon. Ran and actually was one of the players hardest at the ball today from Dees.

2. Rivers. Some good run and carry at times.

1. Pickett. Not enough help from fellow midfielders or small forwards.

ANB stiff, did a good tag job but his general defensive work was missed in other parts of the ground because of his role.

Lost me at Langers.

Funny I thought it was his worst game yet.

Other choices were very good

It's funny how someone can see it very different to each other, that's why I really like this thread 🙂

I couldn’t bring myself to vote last weekend and I can only muster one name today and that’s Gawn

6 Gawn - clearly playing hurt in second half - but still the most dominant big on the ground.
5 ANB - shut down Walsh two weeks ago when sent to him after half time and his effort denying Daicos was superb and shows the value of tagging and not relying completely on a zone.

4 Salem - one of three mega impressive defenders for us - clean and quick to realise danger situations.

3 T-Mac - another strong game with some clever baulks. Lost Krueger early on one of his goals, but very reliable, although hard to understand why he ain't being sent forward when we are so bereft of form up there.

2 Rivers - possibly his best first quarter ever and constantly provided drive and aerial support.

1 JVR - our only aerial threat up forward once Trac got hurt. Makes you aware of how bad the others are going.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
