The best team we've had in 60 years and only one lock down flag to show for it. What a waste!

Boys mostly try hard but we just don't have the skills or composure to choose the right option let alone execute it

We've got 6 home games to come this season. These last two weeks will cost the club millions of dollars.

Won't cost anywhere near as much as the brilliant decision to offer a 6 year contract to the bloke who was one head knock away from forced retirement..

They can’t do anything wrong and will kick goals from the 4th level. We can’t do anything right.

You don't have to watch the whole game to know what was going go happen today. Turnovers in the first and mo way of ever getting back.

No way we are making the 8. Goodwin lost this team weeks ago. Our game style, if you lose the side, it becomes evident.

I'm not convinced were making the 8, but this week is very different to what we've seen the last few...

Viney needs to be dropped

Disagree, however whilst his endeavour can’t be questioned, he is not, and never been the +A grade player that many MFC supporters think he is, ie one sided who is an ordinary kick.

Yep I dread to think what we'll get to the nth game

Not really, a flag is a flag I would've taken one in my lifetime 5 years ago. Just a bit bitter that we didn't get to experience it live

Laughable. Not going anywhere. Deal with it.

Yep, that's the other ramification.

We're unwatchable.

Even when we win it is a hard slog but it could get seriously embarrassing.

In 12 months time we could be irrelevant again.

The decline is faster than the rise

I’d be looking to move on some value whilst it’s still there. We have good talent coming through in Windsor, Pickett, Howes, Bowey, Rivers and Sparrow. I’d be looking to cash in Petracca. Gawn, Viney and May will slow down. We need to replenish our stocks.

Perhaps Roos can come back and find another coach to hand over, strange though as Goodwin says they have hardly spoken since he took over, why is that, is it Roos or Goodwin

we tried a bit that quarter

awww

so proud of the boys

Hope you're "leaning into this" Simon

Haha that’s the new term now.

And to think it worse because half Collingwood team are reserves players. The team is not just inept but cultural issues have eaten the core of this club out. Truly sad that many of us will never see live a premiership live in our lifetime

We are still lacking in basic skills. Yes we are playing better contested footy, but we cannot execute simple handballs or kicks, and we have lost all ability to defend the turnover. And we are 10 down in clearances with Pies missing De Goey, Mitchell and Pendelbury!!!

We are playing soft football.

Great MFCSS therapy

The house? It's dark and I'm drunk.

How many times have we seen a score line like this. One more scoring shot  and we our six goals down.

Maybe it is on the coaches.

Also on the players.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
