The Board & Pres & CEO have been pretty quiet in the media & in communications generally this year.

Now might be a good time to rally the faithful & give us some hope.

Prefer it that way tbh.

I get that such a huge loss is triggering for the fan base but there is so much hand wringing and hyperbole on DL and social media right now.

I'm Hopeful it was an aberration. Think we can still make finals

Do they need to be anywhere? Bit of Spanish Inquisition on here at the moment.

Board doesn’t need to comment on last weeks performance. Where they failed was their lack of comment last year when Angus was physically assaulted by a targeted attack.

I still don’t understand why we were not vocally outraged as a club and perhap that is one of the reasons why the playing group have lost their fighting spirit.

The board won't get involved in football matters in season. If needs be they can conduct a review at seasons end.

Very convenient! Surely the President can say a word or two, given the club are almost at crisis mode?

If the board reacting now shows a lack of faith in the football department and that causes more problems than answers, yes we have had two bad games, now the ball is in Godwin's court let's see how the players and coaches react before more petrol is poured on the flames.

Well 2 of the last 3 games demonstrate an existential crisis. I don't want us to be next seasons North Melbourne.

Demonland is in crisis mode and many on here are having an existential crisis but the club isn’t. Clearly we need to play better and if we don’t we may even miss finals but some people need to touch grass.

Thanks for the positivity WA. I actually thought that maybe the eagles loss was the outlier but now with the Freo loss or rather thumping I think we will be lucky to play finals.

We don't have the depth anymore and if we get hit by a few more injuries then we may see some more beltings.

Our fwd line has managed 100 points twice this season  and now our midfield has imploded. On top of that we are using Tracca up fwd and Kozzie in the middle .

Players like McAdam and Petty need to go to Casey and get some form and confidence but we don't have players to replace them with.

I guess the KB game will tell what we are made of. It won't be easy to shrug such a big loss though. As much as I want to see us beat the filth, Id be happy to just compete for four quarters. We may be distracted by the Maynard incident too.

That's the problem I think some have been smoking it....

Yes this is the Real Test for Goodwin, coming up.
He has “lost” his players right now, for whatever reason, everything imploded last Sunday. I have had concerns since the Brisbane loss, His biggest challenge to date, will be to get this Team firing and aggressive again with 12 games to go.
Monday will give us the answer. Another insipid performance and he may as well pack up.

No need for unnecessary noise. Besides no one on the board can play a key forward role.

Talk about overeaction. We may have had a couple of bad games in the last few weeks, but the Football Dept will have analysed our games with a view to correcting.

There seem to be more important things going on in the real world like making sure Dusty plays his 300th at the MCG (B*** the Adelaide game.). C'wood will probably demand that Pendlebury's 400th game is at the MCG regardless of the Draw, so we could be playing in Quambatook (spare ground there apparently).

Looked out the window and thought how lucky we are to regard Footy as a Major, major catastrophy.

The Marketing Dept of the AFL will solve all this, so take a Bex & have a good lie down

They're huddled in a secret bunker beneath the MCG, plotting their next move like a bunch of MI6 operatives. They've got a giant chalkboard covered in cryptic formulas and strategies, with references to Dermie’s footy brain. Meanwhile, the fans have taken to social media with pitchforks and flaming torches, rallying like a scene from a dystopian movie. They're demanding heads on platters, or at the very least, a solid game plan that doesn’t involve kicking, marking, running or hand balling.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
