OLIVER ZERO CONTESTED POSSESSIONS IN A HALF OF FOOTY

VINEY WITH ONE

WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THIS MIDFIELD?!

It has been run into the ground by a severe lack of depth and quality rotations. Our recruiting has been diabolical.

The Goodwin gameplan has severely under valued speed and transition on top so we are now overly reliant on centre breaks and dominance at half back.

This midfield implosion has been in the making for at least 2 yrs.

Not really surprised after the eagles game.

Oliver is a shadow of his old self.

Tracca has been quiet this year too.

Sparrow is lucky to get games.

And then there is our fwd line.

We don't have one.

We are shot and we have few coming up through the ranks.

Our dominance is well and truly over.

It's back to the dark old days.

Or at least mediocrity.

Petty has become a liability

Soooooo bad

U dont say???

Where are the clowns who find every excuse under the sun for our poor performances this season. I want to hear the excuses for this rubbish.

Two Freo players hold the ball and effectively tackle each other Nibbles tackles them. No holding the ball. WTF???

Didn’t we have a 51 point comeback with Austin back in the day haha, we’re gonna need exactly that to win and restrict them the nil.

Go dees! Gotta laugh because I feel like crying. This isn’t system adjustment stuff, this is just sad.

Except for the first 5 minutes, they are making us look amateurs...

Freo pressure and system totally killing us, easily moving end to end and blocking all exits.

No pressure or even fight around contest, unlike free around the contest.

Pity any dees supporters that flew up the watch.

Worst first half since 2018 prelim. 3rd grossly uncompetitive display this season. WTF is going on?

- Angus Brayshaw.

absolutely terrible effort, while max is getting the tap out it is going to the opposition and they are clearing the ball, he need to get the ball to our players. when it goes the freo players out of the ruck, our midfield is not putting pressure on them. why they hell do we not man up they are running rings around us with this stupid zone game we play. collingwood and north must be loving this.

Heads will roll for this performance. Something is seriously wrong with this club. West coast, now this. Need to step back and rethink the list

Not trading Petty to Adelaide is one of our bigger list mistakes in a long time

We would be lucky to get a bag of old marbles for him .

One disposal for a half.

No marbles.

Edited by leave it to deever

In reality ...selling the game is NOT the real issue.

Getting thumped is..

We play like yoyos

Team is very over-rated imo... sorry to say.

Nice the lads have a good mate in  Simon

Kum by ya ...

Go Dees ( back to the airport....just go home..... youre obvious not interested)

This is coach-killing stuff.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
