If Tomlinson doesn't come in now I have no idea why he is on our list. Yes, he's no world beater but has been Casey's best and is the natural replacement.ย  Petty has to remain up front given the paucity of forwards. I'm not overly confident this will occur.

Tomlinson isnโ€™t an intercept defender hence why he isnโ€™t the right replacement.ย

Is there anyone on our list who isn't (a) carrying an injury that should have been rested earlier or (b) coming back from injury lacking form and match fitness? Our player management is leaving a lot to be desired.

So, question.

If every player carrying an injury is rested, and every player returning from injury comes via Casey, then we will need to play a 10 man side. ย ย

No to Petty forward he gives nothing Plays back or doesnt get a game Cant believe Im saying this but Petty Back. Tomlinson back and T. MAC FORWARD

T McD I believe has been quoted as saying he will not be played forward as his foot / ankle limitations prevents him from running on a lead or flying for a mark. ย  Yes, if that is the case maybe he shouldn't be playing, but as above who can we play in his place? ย ย

Second year in a row we have scored a succession of unrelated injuries to most of our tall forward options and many of our tall backs. ย Someone has to run out onto the field for us. ย Who?

Oooof. Weโ€™re bigger than one player, even if it is someone as important as Lever. But it will be a tough month. Really puts into perspective how important it is to bank โ€˜easyโ€™ wins.ย

Only a Melbourne player could cop a whack to the head and end up having surgery on his knee!

Narrm strikes again!

Are we sure it really means Melbourne and not some sort of word that results in subject matter being cursed with bad luck etc!?

Obviously been carrying since the Hawks game, best time to have the surgery at this point so he's available after R14 bye.

JV7 ain't right either he's carrying something also, he's just not bullocking through tackles and playing in that all action style of his.

Tommo comes in always solid never rewarded, at least until hore or disco are ready.ย  Petty stays forward we need him to hit form if we are any chance of winning a final. can't rely on Roo to be our main goto all season.ย

You are assuming a finals berth?

Wowย  good luck with that this season

Swans Geelong and Pies are the only certaintiesย

Better now than later in the season. Though once again, it confirms that so often players are carrying injuries we don't know about that must be impacting their performance.

Not an excuse for Sunday, but I wonder if there wasn't more going on than we knew - Max for one, May for two. Why was May playing on the less dangerous, less mobile forward, especially once it was clear that Waterman had McDonald's measure?

Just idle conjecture, but I know from being around elite level sport in various ways from time to time that all isn't always as it seems.

May started on Waterman and was switched after Waterman was giving him a bath.

Who? Because both Hore and Disco are injured. So in fact we have 0 intercept defenders right now who are fit.ย

I didnโ€™t know Hore was injured.ย

Meh, all good. Freshening him up for the second half of the season where we make our heroic charge.

When I first heard he had a knee issue it cast my mind back to Luke Molan who did an ACL, collarbone and got concussed in a single contest.

Wasn't that getting off the bus at his first training session??

Not confined to elite sports.

Similar to me when I got home late after a night with the boys, wi fi was far from impressed! And I knew I was in strife!

Tommo simply isn't a third tall I'm afraid, as much as I'd love to say that he could be that floating interceptor he just isn't. While there is a chance for him to come in, his best role would probably be the one that Tom McDonald is currently playing.ย

Turner going down when he did really hurt, this would have been perfect as we could have either swung him or Petty back.ย

Tmac said his body wasnt allowing him to play the fwd role and was getting him injured all the time. now his body is right maybe its time to give him another go whilst we can?

  • Thank You Simon Goodwin

As Demon fans, weโ€™ve ridden a rollercoaster of emotions over the decades; the heartbreaks, the near misses, the wooden spoons, and the endless waiting. But through it all, we clung to hope. And then came Simon Goodwin. Before he ever wore red and blue, he was a champion in his own right. A five-time All-Australian, two-time Best and Fairest, and two-time premiership hero and Captain with Adelaide, Simon Goodwin was always destined to lead. When he transitioned from the field to the coach's box, first as an assistant at Essendon, he began shaping a new legacy.
