As critical of ANB over the journey as anyone but props to him for the game tonight. Seems the forgotten man when listening to the media post game

Was singled out and given high praise in the fox footy post match.

He was probably instrumental in the majority of the most critical moments tonight. When we were being challenged he stood up. So many big and small acts to half or win a contest and set up his team mates.

Nice to see him get on the end of a few too.

Just saw Clarry in rooms after game with his shirt off.

Am amazed that someone with his ‘conditioning’ could be playing so well.

You remember Jarrod Molloy at Brisbane?  They kept him a bit on the heavy side so he'd be more of a beast in tight spaces and harder to bring down.  When he went to the Pies and dropped the extra weight he was half the player.

Have to say, I think that was the best game I've seen all year.  Scores level at half time, multiple lead changes, a massive arm wrestle for dominance between two very different game styles.  It had everything.  And of course, the right team won.

I can't believe how quickly Windsor is adapting to the top level.  So very happy we have him in the side.  I'm hoping we'll all be equally impressed with the Kolt when he gets his chance.

Absolutely LOVE that we won a game where we lost the main stats and the expected score. There’s nothing better than seeing a team take their chances.

My favourite part was Fritsch screaming “[censored] you” at the Port supporters when he kicked the sealer.

Unfortunately I missed the first qtr, but the game looked pretty slippery even though it was a hot and dry day in Adelaide? Was that just the humidity?

It was ridiculously muggy. Not as bad as in Sydney, but not far off.

I was lol-ing ‘til one of them threw a bottle of water at me from his car while I was waiting to cross at the lights. Unfortunately he was a good shot, it hit me in the head. But some decent Port supporters made sure I was ok and I ended up walking the rest of the way with them. More importantly though…

YEAH THE MIGHTY DEES!!!

This was one of those matches that you know already you’re never gonna forget. So, so proud of our boys.

And so happy for Jack. ❤️💙

I tellsya, little Chloe has the Jack Viney stare.

I reckon she'll be a champ for us.

Jack said after the game she's a firecracker. 😜

Hope you're alright wcw.

Was it a ford escort or a Camira he was driving?

Enjoy Adelaide. All jokes aside, it's a great city.

It can’t have gone entirely past the goal line if it hits anywhere on the post. It was a behind.

Yes it can as part of the post is behind the goal line.  The goal line runs through the middle of the post yes?

Another example.... if player kicks a very high kick and the entire ball sails just past the line but is then taken by a gust of wind or the ball's being kicked into a howler and it is pulled back toward the post and hits it....surely the goal stands?

It's broken the imaginary plane (line) that runs between the posts.

I reckon far too much is being made of inside 50 disparity. We're setting ourselves up that way to slingshot as Collingwood did last year and as Geelong have done for years under Scott.

Bearing in mind that players who just played the best game of their life usually have a dud the next week should ANB be dropped for the Adelaide game ?

not entirely serious

pretty stoked with that performance

A huge shout out to the D.A. and anyone that managed to get there tonight.

The cheering was immense and loud.

The chanting sensational.  Must've given the boys a lift too.

Fabulous stuff guys! 💪🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

And sorry to be a downer, but I thought Hore really struggled. Was often the man in the hole and only got it right once in the second quarter.

I wouldn't play May against Adelaide, but if we do, Hore definitely comes out for May.

I say we give May an additional week to fully recover. Just keep Petty down back.

For three of the quarters I’d agree but it felt like in the third quarter they just got too far on top in the middle and controlled play. We sagged back to defend but it felt to me like the game was on their terms, not ours.

The rest of the game felt like we were prepared to give up some territory and so it was more within our control.

Disagree with you as did Max and Goody in their post match pressers.

He certainly made a few mistakes but I loved his attack on the contest. Was asked the tough task of playing tall when Petty was sent up forward and I thought performed his role well.

I’ve not read this thread in its entirety and I’ve yet to watch the replay, but there was talk in the cheer squad of the likelihood of Fritta being cited. I don’t even know to what incident they were referring. Wondering if this is a thing.

He turned around to the crowd and told them to F off after he kicked his last goal

Worth the fine. We salute you Fritta 🫡

Yeah that was great, and very warranted. But some were saying he unnecessarily dropped an unsuspecting Port player behind play(?)

Yes, and we did it in a way that is MFC in 2024. Absorb and let them flounder with no space in their F50, and then get a turnover and slingshot with kicking to forwards leading at the ball. (Ironically this is how teams beat us the last few years - when you are all about forward half turnover and can’t move the footy from the other arc - you have no space.)

Thats why we have 22+ scoring shots from 45 I50s.

This is actual footy, it’s been missing entirely the last couple of years. So glad it’s back.

See, this is the thing. We didn't steal it then. We set ourselves up that way. We were super aggressive from every centre bounce and many around the ground stoppages. The mentality clearly being win a pure clearance either out of the front or unpressured or be prepared to lose the clearance and then dig in at our defensive end.

That has been a noticeable difference in all 4 games we've played this year.

They paint the goal-line so that back of it lines up with the back of the post including the padding.

Therefore a ball that has entirely crossed the goal-line, has also gone past the back of the post.  To hit the post after that point, the ball needs to be blown back by a gale or it needs to be spinning such that a part of the ball goes back to hit the post e.g. a helicopter kick or "one around the corner".

The late body hit from behind on Butters or Rozee after they kicked it that turned into the down field kick was it in the second?

If thats what they're referring to then nothing to worry about.

It was really marvellous to see Ben Brown tonight.

Last season I thought we wouldn’t see him again.

The story from North was his knees were shot and he could only run in straight lines

he looked pretty mobile tonight and he is a lovely kick when he gets the ball

This is just baffling. We’ve seen 3 or 4 this year and there’s absolutely no excuse for getting these so wrong.

It's okay to get them wrong when Collingwood are on the wrong end of it. 😆

Well that's part one of Christmas in March done, what a friggen spirited performance from the lads.

Port you can choke on the fattest of fat ones and I hope you sincerely enjoy it.

Weren't at our best tonight but we dug in deeper and were tougher for longer.

Wore them down and took our chances like a champion team does El Capitano immense and JV7 playing a gutsy 200th.

The backline stood up like they always do lead by our rejuvenated vet in Tmac and Rick.

Was a pleasure to be apart of the cheer squad tonight, now to top it all off with another statement making performance and make it 2 from 2 to sign off in style in the city of churches.

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger.
