We finished 4th last year with 16 wins & 4 losses. Regardless if the Pies win, itโ€™s still difficult for either of these teams to make top 4. Swans finished 8th with 12.5 wins and 10 losses.

Going early with that statement...

They can't move the ball without Coleman.ย

The AFL can't allow teams to have breaks within 2 weeks of the season starting, its disjointing for the competition.

You either play everyone opening round or scrap it all together.

Completely agree about Coleman. He kept them in the granny last year and Brissyโ€™s whole set up revolves around him. Heโ€™s a superstar that doesnโ€™t get the credit he deserves.ย
ย

And yeah the โ€˜openingโ€™ round has played out poorly. Further compromises the season.ย

Umm so is Daniher. Not too sure what Hipwood brings as a KPF, but he plays smaller than Spargo.

Always seems to play his best games against us though

Absolutely. I just didnโ€™t want to name both in case the angry ghost of Norm Smith reads my outrageous comments. He sees these posts & makes these blokes play well against us ๐Ÿ˜

Brisbane architects of their own downfall tonight.ย

With the list that Lions have, Fagan looks to only have a plan A. Not sure he will get the ultimate success.ย
Hipwood reminds me of Schache

Nup much worse

Neither team will finish top 4.

one of them will miss finals.ย

Thanks Brisbane for ruining the best running joke of the season. Twitter/X was fun while the Pies were winless.

The pies looked linke they go the rub of the green with the frees, but at least they put some effort in. ย Lions were slow, stationary and putrid.

Channel 7 asking Pendlebury in the post match interview about a โ€˜love tapโ€™ on Neale is everything wrong with the AFL.

Stop creating the narrative. They did it last year and itโ€™s fundamentally wrong.

It makes me hate the game.

Fagan senile.. like half of his players, inept!! has Hipwood had a touch??? My 3 year old grandson goes harder than him!

Picket, I find it helpful to understand your posts if I read them using the voice of Donald Trump. All of a sudden it explains a lot!

Parasites they are.

Pies are a chance for finals if lucky

Tough night to be a Lions fan. ย Frustrating to watch the team play so bad, but oh my, the umpiring was next level atrocious. ย Would ruin the long weekend.

How is that Maynard tackle different from a sling tackle?

It was Maynard, so it was deemed a โ€œfootball actionโ€ ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Itโ€™s been a very strange night. BT calling posters as goals. Also saying this absolute trash game feels like a โ€˜finals gameโ€™? WTF?

ย

Umpiring was AWFUL.ย
ย

The standard of the game was terrible by both teams.ย
ย

Brisbane just played worse than Collingwood.ย
ย

Joey Montagna saying Pendles punch was just a fine??

ย

Interviewing and asking a player about an incident they should be suspended for straight after a game?

ย

Referring to the incident as a โ€˜love tap?โ€™

ย

The reality of what we just witnessed vs the way itโ€™s characterised by commentators is worlds apart.ย
ย

Painfully obvious tonight.ย

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmyโ€™s inclusive bannerโ€”"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwoodโ€™s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.ย

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
