Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Can't believe there's some on here still not happy with a 50 point win. Take your miserable selves to Maccas for a happy meal.

Maybe look at the process of how we won compared to margin of game, there was some brilliant play but that 2nd and parts of the 3rd quarter against a bog ordinary side was ordinary.

As in gasping for air….he’s not even close to fit. He’s just missed the entire preseason and barely been able to run  since August

The Bawlers (called ball at every tackle in the first half) seem to be malnourished, but didn't appear hungry. Ramadan is halfway through. I think they have taken the fasting too far. They couldn't get a serving into the forward line. The chips aren't going to work, they mainly led to apple turnovers or a slow cooked stoppage for us. The dinner plan was missing all day. What is Mitchell thinking, nothing on their menu. They were too small, lacking energy, and starved for space. Comprehensively beaten to a pulp. Why do they boo Gawn and Tracc? Both are Michelin stars. Why doesn't the umpire protect Clarry from thuggery? They tried to tenderise him, he just got tougher. The Fritta train is good eating. Kossie will steal your lunch when it is within your grasp. Tracc is the head chef. Plenty of sharing plates going around. Hope Maysie and his ribs aren't cooked. Great serving by the MFC, ruthless, and they responded every time the Bawlers got a sausage roll. How are those apples?

When a team knows they have the other side absolutely cooked, they get lethargic and have a lapse. It was a methodical picking apart from a very good side.

Good to see Fritta have a good day - you called it @WalkingCivilWarWho's going to kick a bag next week?

Anyone. I’m not fussy. 😅 Maybe that Frittata boy will go back to back. Sat with his mum for the entire match and the relief was palpable. She was so proud ❤️💙

So a lapse for a quarter and half is OK by you then...

Loved Frittas game on Sardinia.

Kossie was great and tracc was superb.

Billings is coming along well but not sure he knows our game inside out yet.

Bit disappointed as I told a Hawks supporter Dees by 10 goals.

Go Dees

They over-celebrated pretty much all of their goals. Embarrassing

yes the Lewis crowd pump up was embarrasing, he acted like he'd put them in front. they were about 5 goals down.

How much I love beating Hawthorn at the MCG!! So many years we sat and watched them tear us apart. The joy in seeing Hawks fans leaving early is as good a feeling as winning.

They look so smug though, even in defeat.

I hate Hawthorn. Love you Hawthorn supporting wifey.

Healy’s problem is he’s the Ian Chappell of footy commentary

He was our captain then he left for the bigger money at Sydney just when we were getting into finals. Just when we needed him.

Gerard was never captain of Melbourne.  His brother Greg was after R. Flower and before G. Lyon.

Take it easy, they through everything they had at us for those 2 quarters and we easily held them at arms length, we wore them out and toasted them in the last.

I was behind the goals and so I saw him quite a bit at both ends. He looked ok to me. He wasn’t his usual self at ground level, but for someone coming back from one of the most serious injuries you can have, and with little pre season, he looked ok.
I think May and Lever going down didn’t help our plan to possibly sub him off. He will be better for the run.

did anyone else think that the briefest review i can remember with not multiple angles etc of BBBs goal was incorrect.

The whole ball had passed behind the goal post but not past the padding on the goal post. I think the goal line is only as thick as the post not the padding, If im correct the whole ball was over the line.

Im giving Bennie another goal

I was behind the goals and 100% that was touched well before the line. It wasn’t a goal and a review was not needed.

Go redlegs.

Professional win with some terrific individual efforts and highlights.

Goody looks a genius with his selections.

Hore replaces may.

And Petty goes back to cover Lever.

Despite losing our two best key defenders for a half, on a perfect day for footy the oppo can't break 50 points.

Far too inflexible and unable or unwilling to make in-game moves. Must have been Mini's idea.

His disposal is not elite, it's God ordinary at times cannot fault his run and endeavour but his disposal by hand and foot under pressure is not elite.

Where's the thumbs down button?

Statistically he might be considered elite, but his disposal and decision making has gone through the roof.

5-10 times today he would have previously blasted away, but consistently made the right decision.

He's started beautifully this season.

Really?? First game in 9 months. Took a great pack mark, missed 2 relatively easy shots at goal and then moved down back without incident. What exactly were you expecting?

Freedom of movement. My 75 year old father could outrun him today.

As I said, he looked better down back and took that great pack mark in the first quarter, but otherwise his movement and agility seemed severely hampered to me and others around us at the game.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
