I think we will get Reid.

Nth think they are no chance, JT has been to Esperance sending the clear message we will take the best WA talent if it falls at our picks. West Coast take the flight risk with Read and missing out on multiple high end picks. There is something going on.

I think so too and I must say, I like these dirty tactics.

I feel like WCE deserve it too, i mean who turns down 6,11,F1.. its a ridiculously good offer.

I'm 25/75 on us getting Reid. Reckon something is happening with WC. North making noises re Curtin but don't think they reach for him at 2/3.

Being Normal with a dose of optimism;

6 - Curtin

11 - Wilson or Windsor

Being abnormal based on North wanting talls and being sure they'll get a suitable one at 6 and maybe also at 11, and taking Duursma with pick 2 because they need firepower more than more midfielders and we'll only do the deal if McKercher is available at 3...

3 - McKercher

18 - Will Green

I think it'll be

6 - Curtin

11 - Windsor

I'm hoping for

6- Sanders

11 - O'Sullivan

Pick 11: Connor O'Sullivan

6 - Curtin or O’Sullivan

11 - Leake or Tholstrup

Reid and Marty Ho.

Pick 6. Caddy

Pick 11. Tholstrup

Sanders and Leake

I think so too. Thought I read somewhere North no longer considering pick 1? WC need multiple picks to speed up their rebuild, Reid a go home risk for them. Same goes for North, need multiple players for their rebuild. We've seen Pies and Lions get high end talent in recent seasons slot straight in and made a difference with Daicos and Ashcroft and if Reid is as good as he's made out to be why not go all out for him? Anyway, I have faith in the MFC to maximise whatever picks we take to the draft.

Koltyn Tholstrup because Koltyn Tholstrup.

#BestNameEver

Sounds like a character in a Kurt Vonnegut novel. 😁

Beatson from Sydney did allude to trading 12 to North for 17 & 18 being in the works, and it seemed predicated upon North finally giving up on pick 1.

We trade pick 6 to Hawks for pick 4 and our first round pick in 2024. We then trade pick 4 and 11 to WCE for pick 1 and take Reid :-)

Reid or Duursma following trade-up,

or Curtain, Sanders, Leake at 6

then

Windsor, Leake, O'Sullivan, Caddy, K-Thol at 11

then

Simpson at 42

Clearly, I have NFI but not too many players in the top ten-ish that I would be unhappy with.

Curtin and Wilson is gut feel.

death riding the eagles would be fun (but nerve racking) so a future first would be tempting but I’d rather the security of curtin for a decade. Wilson is the slide with it being a coin toss with Tholstrop. Wilson will get some great structural learnings from nibbler and Langdon about how Melbourne will want to use his run.
If Watson and/or Leake slide to our respective picks I’ll be very excited for next year.

Bit late to the party
McKercher and Tholstrup  if we trade with Hawks.
Curtin and Tholstrup if we don’t.
given the quality available at our picks I’m going to be happy with whoever JT picks.

1. WC - Reid

2. GC - Walter (bid matched)

3. Nth - McKercher

4. Nth - Curtin (first surprise)

dees trade pick 7 and f1st with hawks for pick 5

5. Dees - Duursma

6. Wb - Sanders

7. Hawks - Watson

8. GC - Read (bid matched)

9. GWS - Windsor

Adelaide trade 12 and 22 for Geelongs pick 10 and change

10. Ade - O'Sullivan

11. Ess - Caddy

12. Gee - Leake

13. Mel - Tholstrup

  • GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs Adelaide

It's Game Day and the Demons are back on the road for their 3rd interstate game in 4 weeks as they face a fit and firing Crows at Adelaide Oval. With finals now out of our grasps what are you hoping from the Dees today?

  • WHAT’S NEXT? by The Oracle

What’s next for a beleagured Melbourne Football Club down in form and confidence, facing  intense criticism and disapproval over some underwhelming recent performances and in the midst of a four game losing streak? Why, it’s Adelaide which boasts the best percentage in the AFL and has won six of its last seven games. The Crows are hot and not only that, the game is at the Adelaide Oval; yet another away fixture and the third in a row at a venue outside of Victoria. One of the problems the Demons have these days is that they rarely have the luxury of true home ground advantage, something they have enjoyed just once since mid April.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
