Why can't McDonald do what he used to do & lead up for the footy

It's almost like they are told not to lead.

Was the soft call goal?

It was given a goal then the ARC decided to cheat.

We needed to bury the crowd. We let them back in. Will be tough. Fritta, Kozzie, Salem need to lift big time. TMac ordinary.

None are AFL standard tonight let alone semi final positive contributors

Dunno if it just looks worse from the standing room but that quarter was rancid. Losing at the contest and inaccuracy and long bombing is back.

Tell ne please, why should I be more confident than last week if it's exactly the same? We look bereft of ideas going forward and it's blinkers central.

Didn't look good on the box either.

When Max is down so is the whole team.

Not yet. Our contest possessions was 42+45=87, Carlton was 39+31=71, a good sign for us. Our 87 is very high number, see if we can keep it that way.

I hate that we’re down at halftime after our blistering start. But we’re basically even. No chasing down a lead. I trust our fitness, I just want us to start Q3 strong and build a lead then wear them down. Some quiet guys need to stand up. Spargo needs to get back into it he started so well. Fritter needs to stamp his authority and take chances. Viney bring the heat please!!!

Kozzie's contact was shoulder to shoulder unfortunately his head clashed with Cripps head

Yer but Kossie didn't concuss him so its worse.

Does Koz get suspended???

Probably, given he is not a big club player.

I think so

There’s a time to coach with kid gloves and there’s a time to rip into players. Pickett poor effort on a few occasions and leaves the ground to bump when there was no need.

Time to tear strips off him, let the team down and will miss 1 game minimum.

Toughness is putting your head over the footy, not what you did there

We canna play any worse, and still in it, have faith.

We will get off the canvas.

Can the ARC intervene without the umpires call?

Move the ball and let's kick some goals. Let's see some good footy

Bumped low. Accidental head clash

People should stop worrying about the Kozzie bump - tribunal will just award him Patrick Cripps' Brownlow Medal.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
