Up and about, talking to the staff...

Ahh, thank [censored]!! I really feel for him. Aside from the obvious health implications, given his history with concussion, that could be season ending.

Dog act by Maynard! What a disgusting display by a Collingwood player. I would say more but it isn't a shock when it comes to the "filth" they are thugs! 🤬🤬🤬🤬

I am still furious about it! 😡😡😡😡

A lot of players have gone missing and need to have a better 2nd half.

We certainly need to find more avenues to goal!

I'll burn something  down if he gets less than three weeks.

I suggest the westpac center, Collingwoods training base

Need a huge lift from Sparrow, McDonald, Fritsch and Salem. Simply not good enough so far.

I think McDonald is no.longer good enough for AFL unfortunately. Looks slow and uncompetitive.

I liked the way we eneded that quarter but I don't know where our goals are going to come from. We can't seem to grasp the concept of lowering your eyes inside 50.

We did a few times in that quarter, but none hit target or were intercepted. Collingwood too good defensively at the mo.

Numerous opportunities in that last 10 minutes to move the ball quicker inside 50 to a 1 on 1 and we chose to hold it up. The scoreboard speaks for itself.

Now they are saying JVR can be called to the tribunal. Is that believable?

I actually thought McStay ran into it and then played it up.

Spent a bit of time on the bench that quarter  but yea he's been exceptionally  quiet.

I'm really disappointed after Gus was stretchered off we didn't respond .

Tmac worries me so much.

I know our entries are poor but he could be out bowling people over.

I feel he just makes up the numbers when he plays these days.

Please prove me wrong Tom.

Yeah I thought Tommy could lead up and get the ball. But he really hasn't shown much

I just hope Tmcd retires !!! Can’t turn or change direction. Too slow

Watch us start with absolutely no gusto or desire to get this game back on our terms.

So many people off the pace of this game.

Where is Max????

I think we'll reset and get it back in our terms.

Do it for Gus

come on dees. You can do this

Need to get some handball connection (without overdoing it) happening and spread from congestion.

That should bring some overlap.

Look for shallow passes to long leads then that might open up some space out the back.

Kozzy into the middle for some touch, spread and finish inside.

Tracc forward.

Staunched the bleeding get up off the canvas. Give these bullies some back with interest.

“Max Gawn has been the heart and soul of the Dees for years now, but this recent recovery from a terrible start has been driven by him. He was everywhere again, and with the game in the balance, he took several key marks to keep the ball in the Dees forward half.” - The Monday Knee Jerk Reaction: Round Ten Of course, it wasn’t the efforts of one man that caused this monumental upset, but rather the work of the coach and his assistants and the other 22 players who took the ground, notably the likes of Jake Melksham, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Kozzie Pickett but Max has been magnificent in taking ownership of his team and its welfare under the fire of a calamitous 0-5 start to the season. On Sunday, he provided the leadership that was needed to face up to the reigning premier and top of the ladder Brisbane Lions on their home turf and to prevail after a slow start, during which the hosts led by as much as 24 points in the second quarter. Titus O’Reily is normally comedic in his descriptions of the football but this time, he was being deadly serious. The Demons have come from a long way back and, although they still sit in the bottom third of the AFL pack, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel as they look to drive home the momentum inspired in the past four or five weeks by Max the Magnificent who was under such great pressure in those dark, early days of the season.

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.
