SPC 3,596 Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 I think he is worth a look if cheap. We lose Grundy and Tomlinson, need some tall stocks. 2 Quote
adonski 13,280 Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 Hes actually quite talented and is one of the few rucks who can genuinely play fwd But he plays with this almost care free nature where he looks like he lacks intensity and any form of urgency 4 Quote

BDA 23,048 Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 Needs to lift work rate. He put in some very lazy performances this year. Not a fan. 1 Quote

He is a natural forward who as you suggest is a good second ruck option. And that is exactly the sort of player we need. But i reckon his lack of intensity rules him out from any team goody coaches. No coincidence he's keen to leave the Suns. I suspect he left the Tigers because Hardwick is like Goody in that he values intensity and attack on the ball over all else. And who is coaching the Suns next year? Hardwick. Edited August 31, 2023 by binman 5 Quote

Josh Schache has less intensity and just got another contract. 5 Quote

There weren't any takers last year and there's nothing to suggest that's changed. 2 years at 500k remaining, when he did not get any senior games last year, is a hell of a lot different to 1 year at 500k and numerous senior games where he played very well. Will be at least 3 clubs looking at him to take in that year and smooth it out with two more on less coin. If it's not us doing the same. Edited August 31, 2023 by John Demonic Quote

I don't think he has less intensity, but I take your point - Josh is not naturally super competitive but he still works really hard But despite us being desperate for a forward option Josh has only been able to play two senior games tgis season. I suspect resigning him is about ensuring we can replicate the one's structure at Casey. 1 Quote

Demonsterative 3,021 Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 Chol fills a need and improves our list. 44 goals in 2022. I don’t mind it. Quote

Pulp Fritschon 775 Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 Think he can play. Always looks likely when I watch him. Surprised to see how little he played at the GC this year. Certainly fills a big need. Quote
Garbo 1,568 Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 If Grundy goes I think he would be a better fit assuming he isn’t on some silly contract. Whenever I’ve seen him he always looked dangerous up forward I wasn’t aware he was also a ruck so that’s a bonus if we need him there to. Quote
dee-tox 4,835 Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 After an impressive 2022, makes you wonder why he's being shopped around. Or perhaps he's trying to avoid Hardwick again? Have the impression his defensive efforts are not what they should be. 2 Quote
Maldonboy38 6,436 Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 (edited) If a coach could get Chol to release some inner aggression and play more physically, he could be anything. His skills are really good and he can kick straight. But like Binman said above, Hardwick and Goodwin favour intense, contested ball players so I can't see us being interested in him. Rab D Nesbitt 8,966 Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 I think he signed on with GC as he's originally from that area. He was probably offered decent coin to move and from memory I think Dimma was disappointed to lose him at that time. Clearly not in his plans now though. Quote
