Brayshaw?? Not in my top 10 today. Serviceable at best.

I thought he was pretty bloody good in the CB gets behind only Viney.
Was pivotal in a lot I50 entries.

Just got home.  What an epic game of footy.  Well done to both teams.  Max Gawn played perhaps the best second half I've ever seen today.  He imposed himself on the game in a way that only he can do.

6. Gawn

5. Viney.

4. Petty

3. Petracca

2. Melksham

1. Pickett

JVR is going to be a very good footballer, which we all already knew.  He loves body contact - the hallmark of most of the better big forwards.

6.  Gawn  -  a Colossus again.  What a leader!

5.  Viney  -  behind Max, but another outstanding, ‘lead from the front’ performance

4.  Petty -  6 goals and only 4 votes. A revelation.

3.  Melksham  - getting better by the week since his return.

2.  Neal-Bullen  -  a consistent work-horse who plays one of the hardest positions on the field.  Doesn’t get enough recognition.

1.  Lever -  just typical Jake.

Plenty of others who I couldn’t squeeze in including Riv, Lingers,Tracc & Hunter.

Typo

6 Tom Petty

5 Mad Max Gawn

4 Jack the Ripper Viney

3 On Trac for Brownlow

2 Roo

1 Milkshake

6 Petty

5 Gawn

4 Viney

3 Tracc

2 Melk

1 JVR

6. Petty - come on guys, clunked it, kicked 6 and kicked a ripping snap

5. Gawn - a colossus later in the game but was actually beaten early

4. Petracca - beast mode

3. Viney - really solid midfield game

2. Rivers - got lucky with some Riv shanks but just loved his drive and energy

Hard for the 1 vote, could go Langdon, Lever, Gus, Melk, JVR, Pickett

1. ANB settled ok Nibbler because he rebounded from early shockers to be good and did a job on Rioli who’s incredibly dangerous and had limited impact

6 - Max - Formidable

5 - Jack - Linchpin

4 - Harrison - Hallelujah

3 - Tracca - immovable

2 - Milkshake - accuracy

1 - Roo - he’s gunna be a beauty

ANB, Riv, Rick, Ed, Gus, Kozzie and everyone that pulled on the Red & Blue today. What a great win.!!!!

A bit mystified by votes to Bowey and McVee.

Think with McVee people are confused whether he was responsible for any of Dusty's goals. I think only one was on McVee. The others were from the midfield where as far as I could see Brayshaw was responsible for him.

Good day at the G and an impressive win.

6: Gawn

5: Viney

4: Petty

3: JVR

2: Neal-Bullen

1: Langdon

Apologies to JvR, Pickett, Langdon, Lever

6. Gawn

5. Petty

4. Viney

3. JVR

2. Lever

1. Petracca

Rivers and Melksham very stiff.

By the numbers;

6 Max Gawn

5 Harrison Petty

4 Jack Viney

3 Christian Petracca

2 Ed Langdon

1 Alex Neal-Bullen

Honourable mentions:

Jake Melksham

Jacob Van Rooyen

Kysaiah Pickett

Trent Rivers

Jake Bowey

Jake Lever

Special mention;

James Harmes after a woeful start became an effective team contributor.

Adjudication;

After the ledger was rather skewed for 3/4's the final balance was acceptable. Tiger fans may feel the rough end at the end but footy like life sucks sometimes.

Broadcasters;

Nathan Jones talks sense, Patrick, Rodney Dangerfield is much funnier, Luke Darcy had a belated conversation on the road to Damascus after being tiger terrific most of the afternoon.

From the director's chair;

A terrific game of footy with high stakes. The Demons' ability to absorb pressure and repeated momentum swings late in the season is really giving the faithful something to believe in. With Captain Max leading the victorious charge to the final siren. Bravo!

6. Petty with 6. Also 7 marks inside 50, we don't win the game without him for mine.

5. Gawn - 22 contested possesions for a ruckman with 9 in the last quarter is absolutely insane.

4. Viney - That man is made of granite. 32 possessions, 9 tackles, 7 clearances. This is the best patch of his career.

3. Trac - Possibly a few misses away from being higher. The master of the score involvement with 13.

2. Lever - 9 Intercept possessions, tough day for the backline but he was great.

1. Melksham - Played his role to absolute perfection and dobbed some beauties.

Apologies Brayshaw, Rivers, Langdon.

Gawn

Petty

Viney

Melksham

ANB

Rivers

Could have happily given votes to Lever, Pickett, Brayshaw, JVR and Pickett too.

I’m not confused  at all. It was one of his poorer games.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
