Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

The media are still harping on about what a great side the bulldogs are and could get a top 4 slot even after losing to the Swans. Most overrated club in recent memory.  Take Bont out of that team and theyre a bottom 6 side.

Caleb Daniel wouldnt get near selection in our backline.

Port might be playing with fire here. If they are resting players and lose to the Blues they then have the Pies. Lose both they then have the Crows a 50/50 game always and then the cats at Pussyland. Might be a long shot but all of a sudden 2nd place is in play. ok I'm dreaming but resting players is one thing but 7 changes can back fire big time..

We want Pies and Port to keep winning. We finish 4th we get the MCG qualifier and possibly straight through to MCG prelim. Finish 3rd we could end up at the Gabba  AGAIN.  FFS.    We wont finish 2nd, too big a gap.

They were always the darlings of the media. The poor old underdogs. The barracking for them in the media in the lead up to the GF made me sick.

Let them continue to be overrated and overrate themselves. They are who I'd like to play in finals for the next decade if I could pick any side.

Thought BBB's throw in the dying minutes against the Saints was a bit rich. Seems you just have to put a fist on the ball and make a two handed throw.

As kids we were taught to hand-ball by keeping the ball relatively horizontal to the ground, flat in the palm of the non-striking hand. The projectile force was provided by the closed fist of the striking hand. Champions such as Polly Farmer were textbook practitioners of the true handball.

Now we frequently have the hands-ball with all points of the compass seemingly acceptable including the over the head loopity-loop. Kevin as you rightly suggest the fist is on the ball but the motion is a two handed throw. Western Bulldogs appeared to be beneficiaries of this 'sleight of hand' in their 2016 premiership year. Ted Whitten as a leading proponent of the 'flick pass' would look down and nod his approval.

Now the AFL rather than the defunct ANFC has wardship of the game, any chance of a timely correction is lost in the rush for spectacle at any cost.

Often very little to none of the momentum that the ball gets comes from a fist (or even a hint of a fist).  It is clear the AFL wants a fast moving game that this allows. I suspect the only thing stopping them from changing the rules to allow throws is how to stop long overhead throws like in gridiron coming into the game which would be a terrible look.

Thai whisky isnt as strong as western plonk. Having said that, hundreds of 'farang' have died here from alcohol abuse. Not unusual for a farang tourist to run naked down the street or throw tv's and furniture out of hotel windows. They cant handle humidity and Asian grog at the same time.

From death riding to top 4 buffer all the games are of interest to me today. Great day of footy ahead which I can enjoy because of our win for the ages last night. Unfortunately, tomorrow's fixture is a dud.

Hate Carlton  Hate Hate Hate but if they knock of Port today 2nd place is not out of the question. We just have to keep winning.

Can only see Port losing two of their remaining games (Collingwood & Geelong) so even if they lose to Carlton I don’t think we can catch them.

Who knows what the final ladder positions will be. From an MFC perspective i just want us to keep winning matches and let the cards fall where they may. If we end up with a trip to AO so be it. I reckon if there's one team Port won't want to play over there its us.

Saints most likely to beat the Suns. Not sure if I want them to though.  If they do, they stop cats from moving to fifth as they are likely to account for the dons at fortress kardinia. But perhaps better if cats are fifth with 38 points.....a game and a half away from us

Still think Dockers are a good side @ Rhino Richards and DemonWa?

Currently fourth last.

Fair Dinkum.

They definitely overachieved last year, they are still middle of the pack.

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
