MCC simply need to guarantee the $$$ and it would be moved overnight

$$$ is the only thing that will move the Cats and the AFL though having regard to Geelong's coach I expect he's made his thoughts clear

Knew this would happen.

Surely it wont happen as Geelong would lose their massive home ground advantage. Theyre no certainties to make the 8. If they were embedded in top 4 they'd switch to the G for sure.

Throwing away home advantage and the  4 points is our deal.

$142,000,000 from the state.  Plus the rest that came across prior.

Here we are still looking for a home base and just been kicked out of AAMI for the WWC

And our reward from the AFL ... the team that has the displeasure of playing the most games at GMHBA.

I doubt it's that simple. Almost certainly the AFL agreed to play a certain number of games per season at Kardinia Park as part of the deal to get government funding. In addition, it's likely that the government required average crowd sizes of a particular minimum number, too, which might require that some large drawing games be scheduled there.

If Essendon can play there, then why can't Carlton, Collingwood and Hawthorn (especially Hawthorn). The games revenue is made mostly from TV rights anyway. So time to move some of the other "Blockbuster" games

Will Essendon know how to get there?

Essendon remain entitled regardless of their decades of failure and cheating

essendrug transportation all sorted out

All aboard for Free Health Checks on the Living Well Bus | Sefton CVS

Wont move it this year but will surely apologise to EssUndone and promise not to make them play there for another 20 years. 😡

Theres a clear and simple answer to this.

White ant Geelong until they win 3 spoons in a row, then no-one will care playing down there, no one will go and there'll be 8,000 adoring Cats fans watching their team lose by an average 186 points across the 3 year period.

Well I can dream can't I.

They just need to follow the white line (should be a doddle for them)

TWSNBN got their win gift game against Crows yesterday .

So many new rules and old rules................will I pay this one, will I pay that one.

The main reason they’ll never shift games from GMHBA is that their sponsors pay the club an obscene amount of money to have their hoardings and what not featured on the TV.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
