Been incredibly disappointing this season aside from his four goal haul early in the season.

He doesn't have to rack up 30 a game, but more than six disposals a game would be good.

Yep - thin edge of the wedge, Bennite solution, beginning of the end. This type of insight provided by @waynewussell could easily lead to truth becoming a fatal distraction from the primary objective of 'Land. What will we do with a life devoid of meaning and purpose without Demonland's omnipresence to sooth the neurosis associated with being a Dee?

Yeah, but he runs really, really fast

Form slump,  the guy just doesn't exist. 4 touches in 3 quarters, will be lucky to get his average of 6. Should be sleeping at Casey Fields and I hate saying that but he's been our worst player for 2 months.

The criticism of Kossie’s contribution throughout 2023 by several DL’s is not supported by statistics!

2023 Average Disposals (11.46) +1 on 2022, -0.38 on 2021

2023 Goal Average (1.7) equal to 2022 & 2021

2023 Tackle Average (4.7) double 2022, +1.2 on 2021

2023 Contested Poss Av (5.6) slightly above 2022, -1.2 on 2021

2023 1% Average (1) above 2022 & 2021

Goal Assist Average (1) above 2022 & 2021

The only significant difference in 2023 as compared to 2022 & 2021 is in his free kick differential. Kossie is giving away significantly more frees while being awarded fewer himself.

Watched any footy this year?

Absolutely stunk it up. Was checked closely and didn't handle it at all.

Genuine risk of being given a spell to find some form.

Maybe he's solar powered?

Nightmare game and I watched him really closely. Doesn't play a proper pressure forward game. Didn't stick one tackle tonight, all saints players were able to get there arms free and hit a target with hands. Again tries to take MOC and didn't get anywhere near it. Plays from behind against opponents that are a head taller than him instead of leading up and using his strength, his wheels. Just very rarely works hard to get to the right spots a crumber should. It's a dangerous cocktail of lack of effort, lack of smarts and poor coaching. Should be sent back to Casey to find some form.

I love Kozzie to death but he is all over the shop atm, needs a rest not at the races unfortunately.

Wonder if the club needed to pull back on the Kozzie through the middle rhetoric. Was fine in theory but over summer we seemed to get blow by blows of the young man bulking up as if he was training for any other role than as a small forward. Maybe that chat came about because we were so desperate to keep him and 'yeah Kozzie, midfield time for sure'.  Consequently, it's as if he now doesn't have a clear sense of what his role is.

FWIW, I don't think he's a midfielder other than for periodic bursts.

One concern surely is that he will (probably already is) super frustrated and may do "something silly" on the field.

Would a week (or two) at Casey give him a chance for some "easy possessions" and help him realise just how good he really is?  I am sure his confidence is at a very low ebb.  We need him up and firing.

Three tackles, 2 i50 - tackle in the champion data definition being “using physical contact to prevent an opponent in possession of the ball from getting an effective disposal”

Unfortunate timing on this post as I’d agree this was about his worst game but the logic of it stands up. The scrutiny on him is bordering hysterical.

He is potentially one of the best players on our list. Hence the scrutiny. It's a major concern. Going back to Casey will be a tough call but, it seems like he's getting less effective week on week and his confidence is shot.

It didn’t look like he got out of a job until the 4th quarter when he didn’t some defensive chase downs, looks slow and lazy today.  The wet slog would have taken it out of them.  He he looks a shadow of the player he was before he took Smiths head off / precontract

I get the hype and the expectation but he’s 22, playing the hardest position on the ground to impact consistently because you’re reliant on luck much of the time. Effort is there, it’ll turn for him

This is clearly just making stuff up in your own head - he got rubbed out in round 1 and as per the OP his output is at or above his career average since then - so how exactly is he a shadow of the player he was? His shadow is outperforming the player he was!

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
