Could genuinely see us winning tomorrow but then losing next week. The heat on Carlton will be extreme.

I can see us losing both.....and then beating Collingwood and Geelong.

Demonland will be box office for a month.

But seriously, there's absolutely no way we are losing to Carlton.

John Longmire in his presser complaining about having a 13 day break and it not being a genuine bye break.

He’s obviously unaware of our 10 day break between round 13, bye and round. 15.

Blakey's composure to bounce the ball while going full tilt, speaks volumes. Buddy doing the team thing squaring the ball up was also good to see. Obviously invested in team over self.

Blues supporters having serious mental break downs on SEN 😄

Cripps rolled ankle but don’t get excited for next week. Many players come back on in the same game with a rolled ankle.

He actually got it caught under another player.

It wasn't a simple roll.

Could be a Lisfranc???

Just an oddity but he runs exactly like his old man did.

Poor coaching by Voss tonight.

Let Longmire play the game on his terms.

Heeney played Cripps out of the game.

Would have been smart to move Cripps forward.

An enjoyable evening in front of the tv.

He's referred to as a lizard. Not sure about that .... there's a case for him being described as a rikali, or an otter.

Glad I’m not the only who’s more than a little s*** scared about losing to this mob next week.

That would have been big if Cripps kicked that goal on halftime

Yeah but how far did he run before he kicked the ball.

Channel 7 would be freaking out at this low scoring mess

Serves them right for gifting Carlton friday nights for the last 2yrs.

If we lose to the Blues next no matter the pressure they are under we might as  well start pre season now.

They are in all sorts of mess. They are lacking confidence and their game plan is shot. Injuries are piling up - it’s an easy kill.

Sort of like Jayden Hunt (but and with apologies to JH), better decision making. I also like his use of hips to slip tackles,

EXCELLENT🤩😁😎😍

What happened to all the DL experts who predicted Carlton would finish top 4?  Doesnt look so fab for you now.  Even the umpires, QC's  and tribunal appeals cant save them. Carltons top 8 players are a massive dumpster fire burning millions for most of this decade.  Why should they care about finals? They dont know -dont care.  Media will turn on them soon. Voss will probably hang on to his 3 year mega contract which expires end 2024 season.  Who else would want to coach them. ? Norf have more heart than that rabble.

Beautiful, pizz them off the week leading up to our game.
Was hoping to get a big crowd next Friday night, by the sound of it might just be Melbourne supporters there.

He did look in a lot of pain and I thought he said to the phsysio/doctor who was walking with him, he was no good.

He could miss next week and it looks like Hewitt, Newman, Kennedy and Hollands could all miss.

Be careful what you wish for...

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

Melbourne and Hawthorn who face off against each other this week have more in common than having once almost merged and about to wear a blue jumper with a red v triangle and an embroidered picture of a bird on the front.  They also share the MCG as their main home ground, their supporters are associated with the leafy suburbs of Melbourne and in recent times, James Frawley graced the colours of both teams. Even more recently, both have bounced back from disastrous five game losing streaks to start off a season. Of course, the Hawks turned their bounce into a successful leap from the bottom of the ladder into a finals appearance, making it to the semifinals in 2024 and this year, they’re riding high in third place on the AFL table. The Demons are just three games into their 2025 bounce back, and are yet to climb their way out of the bottom four although they are sitting a game and percentage out of the top eight. However, with the current sportsbet odds of $3.90 to win this week’s encounter, it seems a forlorn hope that their upward progression will continue much longer.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
