I think you are right about the ball bouncing out of JVR's hands when marking, though I don't think it is the positioning. Hands are too stiff, no give when the ball is there. He has buckets for hands and I can see him developing those grabs, which he can take (training observations). Could be related to "not being loose as a goose" when playing. Give him some time, a few great games and he may be able to show us something. At least he is bringing it down for the front and centres, which appears to be be the instructions.

Thank you for your answer in an intelligent way unlike some, what I mean is if you have your hands, I hope I can explain it right, they have their wrist cocked back but their hands are in a position catching a cricket ball so when the ball comes in it is hitting the palms of their hands, that it what I mean about position of the hands which causes that stiffness when the ball hits,  so on that point you are right, I think JVR has the ability to play at this level and he needs to play at a higher level for a long period.

Massive game by the Bont. 3 votes easily.

That was a hec of a game.  Reckon i mightve had a hand in his form this season after i gave him a bit of a pep talk towards the end of last year!

While Bompt plays for the Bulldogs they'll always be a Premiership threat.  He is a champ for sure.

I assumed you meant uneven placement of the hands, so the ball hits them at different times.

I understand your description, and will look more closely at JVR's method next time.

Excellent start to the weekend. Tmrw I hope Sydney beat Geelong. Only because I hate Geelong that much.

Any weekends a good weekend when Geelong get done but at least we could go ahead of Sydney on the ladder if Geelong win, which the should given Sydney’s injuries list.

I have a sick sense of satisfaction knowing that Jackson has to play for this rabble 😂

We weren't treated respectfully in that deal and was upsetting.

But seeing last night's game , and Luke's inputs, I now have moved on and am sympathetic to him, knowing that last night he saw his future.

Its a shame really because inside an elite club/team (us) he would thrive (cue 2021) and money can't buy that feeling.

Just hope he's happy and content in other ways.

So both us and the Dogs cop the Perth-Adelaide double on a 6 day break.

One side comes out hungry, focused and wasn’t coming home without the 4 points. The other looked as flat as a pancake.

I was surprised when they flew all the way back to Melb after the Eagles game. Logic demanded they fly to  Adelaide on Monday morning set up camp and have a relaxing week with no more travel..Stupid decision to fly back and fly out again. If Bulldogs flew from ADL after r5 straight to Perth theyre smarter than we are.

Thats embarrassing.

We will find out on Monday if we're an elite team. Elite teams dont play like we have recently and will overwhelm the wounded tigers.

Lose and we're back with the pack.

Apparently our players wanted to be back home to family. They even took the red eye flight... 🤦🏻‍♂️

And they served up garbage, so I’m sure they’ve been reminded of that all week.

And add in the fact most of the players clearly have no issues with hubbing, per the 2021 finals series.

I think we clearly missed a trick and the Dogs were smart in reducing their hectic travel schedule as they had a couple of days in Adelaide post game and then flew to Perth at their leisure. Smart.

The Dogs were physically and mentally on. We were physically and mentally off.

Getting my footy fix in a few! Non-MFC, that is. Got a cut lunch, a compass (and my passport 😁) and I’m not too far from Coldstream. Rocking navy and white (feels weird) and I’ll have a choice of Coldstream FC headwear for today courtesy of one of the Fritta fellahs.

PS out here in the eastern burbs you don’t have to show your receipt in order to get the maccas staff to unlock the toilet door for you!!! 🤯

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
