Wasnt there some controversy about JJ being awarded a medallion. He wasnt in the 22 but was a medi sub who never stepped onto the ground.

He's going to feel uncomfortable at the  10  20 year reunions.

Whats your favourite footy moment in the 21 GF Jim,.....  errrrr   "celebrating with my teammates"

What else can he say,.... awkward.

No idea why I've never thought of this till now..

I still think Jj is a better option than Hunter on a wing but I’m in the minority

I note the WA press making much of his good game today...quoting him saying how much he likes playing back in his hometown  and how he used to support the Eagles. His contract wouldn't expire this year, would it?

Links?

Would have thought todays game if anything reinforced his reasoning why not to join the Eagles.

If I was drafted to a WA team I sure as hell would like playing on the G In my hometown as well.

He’ll sign.

Rivers joins the likes of Sparrow ,  Chandler & Jordon who would earn decent coin  at another club but given our book, probably sacrifices  upwards of 50-75k of his earning potential. Clubs will probably offer 100-150k per year more than we could .. that’ll be hard to say no to.

Rivers is probably the player we can most afford to lose, given the alternatives we have down back. Sparrow and Jordon I’d want to keep more. But thats just my opinion.

I really like JJ but as a winger, Hunter is in a totally different league. His gut running, positioning and field kicking are all A grade. JJ is potentially more versatile but as a winger, he is a journeyman.

For mine, we must keep Kozzie and Rivers. I’d like to keep JJ but if he or even hee and Hames were the price of keeping the other two I’d be okay with it.

Rivers and Pickett are the two players that are refreshing our midfield. They are must keep in my eyes and that may mean Sparrow, JJ and/or Harmes leaves. That’s AFL footy.

Feel like many Rivers has another level or 2. Will b3 a question of if he is willing to sacrifice the dollars to stay

JJ is the most expendable of the three, clearly.

He is a solid citizen but he doesn't have a point of difference whereas Sparrow is powerful and explosive, strong overhead and Rivers can play defence and is now running through the midfield and also possesses a strong overhead mark and penetrating kick.

JJ is vanilla. And there are a thousand JJ's out there.

Unfortunately for these guys, one or two may be squeezed out due to competition for spots and money. I hope it's not Rivers or Sparrow though, I'd rather it be JJ, Harmes, Dunstan etc.

Also, JJ on a wing over Hunter is a massive lol.

Riv is developing really nicely, hope he stays.

Looks to be staying until 2027!!!

posted in another thread but

2027 takes him to when he qualifies for free agency.

Very happy with an 8 year commitment to the club.  Can't ask for anything more than that.

Hopefully, he will have a few more premierships.

People can relax about the 'Go Home' factor!!

this is not just a great signing for the club, it's a really positive sign for the prospects of re-signing Kozzie as well!

Awesome news, the club just announced it.

  • PREVIEW: Collingwood

Way back in March we contemplated the possibility of a Demon resurgence after Simon Goodwin’s summer of love. Many issues at the club had seemingly been addressed, key players were returning from injury and a brand new day was about to dawn. We imagined the coach pulling a rabbit out of a hat. The team would roar up the charts, push aside every opponent and make its way to a Grand Final ending in ultimate triumph with Goody and Max holding the premiership cup aloft under a shower of red and blue ticker tape.

  • AFLW REPORT: Western Bulldogs

We’re back! That was fun. The Mighty Dees’ Season 10 campaign is off toa flying start with a commanding 48-point winover the Western Bulldogs, retaining the Hampson-Hardeman Cup in style. After a hard-fought first half in slippery conditions, the Dees came out in the second half and showcased their trademark superior class, piling on four goals in the third termand never looked back.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
