The only bit of good news is that Max is walking without splint, brace, crutches or even a limp.

I don’t think you can read that much into it. It actually may mean the opposite.

Brisbane - blackouts and people singing John Denver and Neil Diamond.

Do they know it’s not 1976?

It is over there!!

In all seriousness this will be remembered as the worst day to be a Demons fan since we didn’t make the 8 in 2020.

Salem injured and out indefinitely. May late scratching still not right. Max gets injured and god knows. Lights go out on a game.

Be kind to yourselves Dees fans.

Any idea if we marked the ball from Brayshaw’s kick just as the lights went out? Looked a potential rare inside 50 entry.

Shanked it straight to a Brisbane player.

Anastasia forgot to pay the electricity bill. How embarrassment.

Serious question - is that a good sign in terms of medial v ACL?

And also a big smile . I’d take a 100 point loss if his injury isn’t serious

Yes you can it's twisting or sideway movement that becomes a problem. But the fact that they are letting him is confusing.

Impossible to tell.  I've seen and played with blokes who've run off the ground seemingly unencumbered only to find they've blown their ACL.

And potentially Petty injured as well 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Kayo - Brown Lyon Buckley - discussing how abandoning at this stage with BL winning +40 points.

They are suggesting that it could adversely effect the  integrity of the betting" - farcical.

Apparently can be continued after what could be 60 minutes!  How about the soft tissue injuries in either teams after cooling down for all this time.  Not a lot of integrity now.

If the game is abandoned then we lose.
Those rules were put in place after the last time the lights went out at VFL Park.

7 goals in twelve minutes.

let’s do this! 🔴🔵🔥🔴🔵🙄💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪

Those lights ain't coming back on.

Agreed. Things exploding are never a good sign.

What a disgrace our midfield was. Doesn't bode well for the Swans game missing Kossie and Gawn. Come on Schac attack!

I suspected that was the case given Brayshaw’s propensity to shank a kick.

We don’t deserve to win but that rule that who’s ever in front gets the points is [censored].

What if it was a scenario in which Brisbane was up by 3 points & the reason they get the win is because their stadium is a piece of garbage ?

Was just thinking this is be dirty as hell if it was close and we lost a goal down with 8 minutes to go

At least they didn’t get 100 points against us

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
