Massive omen for this thread and tonight's game. I've just bumped into Kozzy's old man.

We had a brief chat and exchanged pleasantries about the Dees, the GF and shared photos of us at the GF and a the like.

As all Demonlanders would expect i politely asked what Kozzie's movements we're for next year, he told me with a grin that I'm sworn to secrecy that Melbourne and Kozzie are in good hands.

Take it as you like, the grin and smile tell me all i needed to know.

We will win big tonight.

Where’d you bump into him?

God's Country Adelaide.

Couldn't make the trip because of work.

I'm turning 73 in less than 4 hours, have recently retired and the only thing I want more than good wine, and Melbourne winning, is the thought of living somewhere between Goolwa and Encounter Bay. Normanville/Yankalilla also sound fine. I worked in the wine Business and have been to SA over 50 times, mainly to McClaren Vale and that area. Apart from it being God's own country, anywhere north of the areas I mentioned get too hot for me in summer...

Any body language guru's keen to submit a report on his demeanor during the game and how it will play out for contract negotiations?

Kossie standing with all the boys, grinning and laughing after the game.  Nice sight except for some reason he has a Port Adelaide towel round his neck?  Assume it is a positive sign given nobody batted an eye lid!

Loved Ralph for the 1st time ever, got real excited. Must say he's got some credit for awhile now. Kozzie staying is such a key piece of the team. He makes us hard to plan for.

Most important signing in a long time. Young kid appears to have it all. Opposition sides would be going a million plus a year. So good on him if he does stick with us.

Big win for everyone involved in the club tonight.

They threw the kitchen sink at us tonight.

Can someone who had tech smarts send Kozzie a video of Melbourne players being introduced at the start of the game.

Max (deservedly) got the biggest cheer, Kozzie was a close second

Strength is front and centre ground ball inside 50s which was poor tonight. Needs to stop flying with the big KPFs

One day he'll pull one down, then every time there after he'll do the same.  The one skill he hasn't yet mastered, but watch out if he does as I think it will make him pretty much a complete player.

On another note, I didn't notice him much on the ball tonight, which I thought was disappointing, because the games he's played significant time there, I've thought he's looked really good.

Why didn't we give him or Rivers a run in the midfield?

His round 1 performance where he played a fair bit in the midfield was so dynamic. Thought we needed a spark and he would have been perfect.

We didn't run him through the midfield because we didn't have Spargo in the side staying i50.

Certainly wasn't kossie's best night - the free against him for dumping Baker was at a very very crucial time

Please please please stay. ..ON THE GROUND

He has no timing. Jumps way too early.

Kozzie needs to get back to basics, he’s trying to do the impossible all the time.

Just hunt the footy and bodies and the rest will come

Was he right, several ground balls he was hesitant and sat off when he’d usually be either first in at ground level or first to pounce on the defender. Thought he just wasn’t his usual self in last night’s game

Also states we are keen on getting Kozzie’s good mate, Liam Henry as well.

Don’t know if we’re still interested. It mentions our interest earlier on but are we still interested in Henry?

The Herald Sun reported in March the Demons were interested in securing Pickett’s good mate Liam Henry from Fremantle, given he was out of contract and out of favour.”

I might have misread it as being present not past interest.

Agree Dazzle. I feel like in the first half in particular we looked very much like the Demons of 2017-20. Everyone right in at the coal face, no one outside with any speed. We couldn’t carry away from the contest, and I was surprised Koz wasn’t used.

The Herald Sun reckons Kozzie has agreed to stay at the MFC and is only dealing with them for a 4 year deal.

Happy days. massive to keep Kozzie on board given the way his career is trending! also i believe means all major potential departures are now signed up for this year so no distractions or will he won't he questions

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
