I’m looking forward to 3 yrs time when we get Dogga back in a massive salary šŸ’©ā€¦

Then at Melbourne he learns to clunk and goes on to greatness.Ā

I have the feeling too that he will end up back at the Dees.

And a recent premier gets even better with a top 6 pick!1!1!1

We would get pick 6, if the season ended today, in a so called super draft. I could see us ending up with pick 5. We would be laughing if that occurred, as we would get a good 2nd rounder too, plus their last year’s 1st rounder too. Plus a swap of Dogga for Grundy. It’s looking like a very good trade at the moment. Especially with JT doing our drafting. He doesn’t get too many wrong

Well, the only one I've heard stick up for him is Max so it wouldn't surprise.

Ok poor taste, but jeez I laughed at this - from 'The Luke Jackson Trade' on Big Footy:

What Freo thought they got:

Do you think North could also be a chance? I need to check out their draw.

Unlikely, of the remaining 18 games they have only 6 against current bottom 7 sides.

  • 2 * GCS
  • 1 * GWS
  • 1 * Rich
  • 1 * Hawks
  • 1 * WCE

And they have already played Hawks and WCE; two of their double up teams.Ā  Other double ups:Ā  Ess, Saints, GCS.

With the rise of Ess and Saints (to play them twice) what looked like an easyish draw now looks much more challenging.

We booed Tom Scully when we were awful and Freo supporters reminded me of us back then - an unsuccessful side who has to boo a player to feel better. Ā Let’s not go back there, Premiership-winning supporters are better than that.

I will never boo Jacko, we are a Premiership Club now with Premiership standards, we have to rise above the haters.

I will be booing . In fact I may just look to smuggle into the G one of those Viking era bullhorns to get a bit of extra bass into it.Ā

I thought Baker was only boo’d sarcastically because the Dogs supporters had already boo’d Hunter several times, and at least where I was sitting, there was as much laughter at the pantomime as there was booing.

Time will tell re: Jackson and boos.

He also had a brief scuffle with Max Gawn, perhaps that contributed...

I’m taking a different tack. I’ll be cheering LJ. He helped win us a flag and then sacrificed himself by going to Fremantle and delivering us a promising KPF and a first and second round draft pick for this year. And to garnish the deal he’s not exactly helping their cause is he?Ā

What more could we ask of him?

Having said all that it’s a long year and I note the significant egg that has been plastered on certain posters faces with the ā€œWhat they’re sayingā€ threads from the Brisbane and Essendon games.Ā
Ā

What I don’t get is the angst LJ is getting for leaving whilst at the same time being derided as an ordinary player. It’s a win win for us, let’s thank him for that and cheer!

Libba has entered concussion protocol. So if cited Brayshaw will miss the next few.Ā
Just going to depend on wether they think his ā€œbumpā€ connects.Ā
I must admit I’ve not seen a close up of the vision.

Can Serong on his own keep them competitive in the midfield? Fyfe back in the guts.

And 3 cheers for Peter Bell as well. He's had a very positive influence on our recruitment and list management over the past few years.

Booing LJ ? You're kidding right. We should all be cheering him very loudly!!!.

Grundy, Jefferson and something like picks 6 and 24 in a mega draft. Who's booing that.Ā

By time we play Freo in rd 11 they are likely to be 3-8. Their games up to then are Lions at Gabba, Hawks Home, Swans SCG, Cats Home, then us at the G. It doesn't get a lot better after that. Tigers H, GWS A, Dons H, Dogs A, Blues H, Pies A, Swans H, Cats A, Lions H, Eagles, Port H, Hawks A.Ā

I could see them ending up with 5-8 wins. Last year 6 wins = 16th. 8 wins = 14th & 13th. We've got to be a real show of getting something between pick 3 to 6 and picks 21 to 24 not adjusted for academy picks etc.Ā

When the Wiz played his first game for Freo against us at the G a lot of our supporters booed him and he just looked at the members with a hurt look on his face and his arms out wide. It was one of the worst feelings I've had at the football.

If Kossi leaves us I'd hope that the same isn't repeated.

Dogga is a big kid and he is happier at home with his mates, mum and family. Good luck to him and even better luck for us. We have come out of this better off and his efforts last year showed he wasn't as good as we hoped he'd be, long term anyway.Ā

Look back to what he was doing before he took up football over basketball, why did he do that, maybe to be close to his family, no moving to the US, a couple of hours away from home at worst playing football.

I have no issues with that I only hope he falls to the bottom of the well with FREO, nothing personal only self interest.

I don't boo anyone but Umpires and opposition players that do harm to Melbourne players.

Anyway, if Dogga helps Freo bottom out, it may convince Brayshaw Junior to move to a successful club and join his brother. That's if he isn't happy to remain on the bottom for the next, how many years.

The circumstances are completely different.

Everyone is entitled to chose their own workplace. However LJ (most likely at the direction of his manager) played the game and put us a significant disadvantage (granted at the time it was an unders deal).

In my book any compassion a departing player shown is almost 100% based on the terms of which they depart and LJ couldn’t have done it much worse … I mean there is always thiu who shall not be named but that is just a different league of betrayal.

Those calling for cheering him… BOOOOOO

Bemused by all the nostalgia and sentimentalism on here...

Andy Brayshaw playing with Angus

Jackson returning to the Dees

none if that will happen.

A fifth round draft pick and Freo pay 60% of his wage šŸ˜‚

Brother or not, Andrew Brayshaw is an excellent player. I’d be very happy to welcome him into our midfield. Good age profile too.Ā
Same goes for Sarong.Ā
Just have a feeling that the trading relationship between Freo and Melbourne isn’t a good one. So doubt it’ll happen.Ā

  • REPORT: Brisbane

ā€œMax Gawn has been the heart and soul of the Dees for years now, but this recent recovery from a terrible start has been driven by him. He was everywhere again, and with the game in the balance, he took several key marks to keep the ball in the Dees forward half.ā€ - The Monday Knee Jerk Reaction: Round Ten Of course, it wasn’t the efforts of one man that caused this monumental upset, but rather the work of the coach and his assistants and the other 22 players who took the ground, notably the likes of Jake Melksham, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Kozzie Pickett but Max has been magnificent in taking ownership of his team and its welfare under the fire of a calamitous 0-5 start to the season. On Sunday, he provided the leadership that was needed to face up to the reigning premier and top of the ladder Brisbane Lions on their home turf and to prevail after a slow start, during which the hosts led by as much as 24 points in the second quarter. Titus O’Reily is normally comedic in his descriptions of the football but this time, he was being deadly serious. The Demons have come from a long way back and, although they still sit in the bottom third of the AFL pack, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel as they look to drive home the momentum inspired in the past four or five weeks by Max the Magnificent who was under such great pressure in those dark, early days of the season.

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.

Just a game and percentage outside the Top 8, the Demons return to Melbourne to face the Sydney Swans at the MCG, with a golden opportunity to build on the momentum from toppling the reigning premiers on their own turf. Who comes in, and who makes way?
