2023 Injury List

Just came in to make sure everyone is panicking.

Carry on!

7 news - apparently Brayshaw is cooked too

Well I’ve read all I needed to. Remove Gawn from the banner and add Jake spencer via ssp. And if brayshaw is reportedly cooked let’s see if Dom Tyson is available too.

Gone for scans too

mfcss rampant for many

Scans sounds a lot better than carried off on a stretcher.

"Treatment for Angus Brayshaw on an existing injury" was all that was mentioned

Didn't specify scans etc

a hammy strain for Gawn is clearly bad news given his age and importance to the side. the next block of preseason 4-5 is arguably the most important so let’s hope it is very minor.

with Schache pretty much our only real option after Grundy, and a poor one at that, we need a bit of luck with injuries in the ruck department

Settle down, it’s a hammy not an amputation.  He would miss 3 weeks if they were playing but will more than likely be back running in a week

my understanding is hamstring injury time is related to age of player and size of hamstring.

given it's maxxy (whose hamstring is longer than my whole body) this could take years to heal 🥵

I had a pimple once and it took years to heal..

Doubt he will be running in a week, maybe a light jog or walk.

Agree though, hamstring awareness would usually just require an easing off and short term modifications to training.

In the old days of no hydration, they would be told to run it off and probably tear the hamstring. Sports science has come a long way over the years.

John Lord for me.  Ye olde Number 4 could also take grabs down forward and slot a few goals. He could also bring it to ground for Barassi, Ridley and Adams-all renowned goal kickers. Hassa would also be lurking close by!

Picket as Black Night changes to day and Smoke on the Water clears as you travel to Casey Fields, Highway Star pumping on the 8 track, beware of Space Truckin' as any Speed King may get you a ticket.

ps. Can we confirm if Max will be hummin' or hamstrung?

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
