Might be ‘fork in it’ time for Tom.

Still 2 years under contract left and 2 years to get it right if you want to look at it that way.

This kind of injury can be career-ending for many, hard to imagine bringing him back so early was wise.. Let's hope he can fully recover.

Not sure why people want to write Tom off. A lot only appreciate him when he isn’t there. He has had his issues but always looks after himself and I am confident he will come up after this set back.

Has the club confirmed the details of the injury or are we just speculating here

Exactly what I was thinking. Let’s get the facts on the ground straight first.

Given how bad our forward line was at times this year. I would just play Weideman  and Van Rooyen up forward next year, if McDonald can’t get back. We just need tall marking targets, who can kick straight, to compliment our smalls.

Someone on here said that Tom was having the metal clip removed Thursday. My source tells me he is having more scans as it doesn't appear to be a recurrence of the Lisfanc which would be great news.

Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere but I searched and couldn't find it.

I read somewhere that TMac has re-injured his foot and won't play today? Anyone shed some light? This doesn't sound very good for Tom who has had a history of toe/foot related injuries..

Can't help thinking of Trengove, Mitch Clark etc.....

Someone stood on his foot in the closing stage of the previous game. One of those unavoidable happenings. There is a chance that it could have happened to anyone and they would most likely not have played

Regardless of the extent of the injury, once we were knocked out by Brisbane he should've been placed in cotton wool. Idiotic decision to let him keep playing/training for Casey.

Watched a bit of Casey. Granted the conditions were tough in the rain but Weid looked like the Weid we have come to know and love - attacks every contest but cannot impose himself at any contest.

JVR had few touches but showed a footy brain when he had the ball. Not as big as I had imagined but with development could be good value.

The metal has to come out for this injury.  I have done it myself and i believe they left it in to help him play

Weideman is tall and a target but not a marking one. Therein lies his problem.

The club is sure that TMac will be right for next year.

The Grundy deal is a given apparently

If there was significant damage it would have come out by now, nothing more than a stomp on the foot.

I reckon the coaching staff of Casey and Melbourne have been extremely cautious with Tmac maybe a bit of bruising and no futher damage.

Corrigan would have seen the weather forecasts and would have been smiling swapping a tall (Tmac) for a small/Hybrid (Melk) and its proved to be a decisive outcome.

Yes they sure can but they have had a proud and long history and plenty of opportunities to perfect a Good Show.

No expense spared of course helps.

I see it as a Horses for Courses and we will be a republic in 20 or 50 or 100 years depending on our collective Will to create it. History is reducing their realms each decade or more like each century.

Not on my mortal watch will we be a republic and I am quite happy to let UK be the traditional Monarchy that keeps the people happy in easier or tough times. Their Govt like ours had just had a change for the better (Leader) and we are in good hands with ScoMo and his malcontents safely deposed for what I expect is at least 2/3 terms of righteous thinking of what they want to mean!

The spoils of our VFL Cup are yet to unfold but some gems are likely when the dust settles from the quirky precocious  youth to potential AFL' ers of 2/3 years and Sam is he Jacko's replacement or do we need Brodie Grundy as well to cushion big Maxy?

A better health fortune snd game plan for 2023 plus hunger from all will be a great tonic fir another very serious assault on another Flag.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

    TRAINING: Wednesday 11th December 2024

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
