Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere but I searched and couldn't find it.

I read somewhere that TMac has re-injured his foot and won't play today? Anyone shed some light? This doesn't sound very good for Tom who has had a history of toe/foot related injuries..

Can't help thinking of Trengove, Mitch Clark etc.....

Apparently having surgery tomorrow

[censored]! Shouldn’t have tried to rush him back so hard. 3 months for a 6 month injury? Jesus

So he wouldn't have been available Friday night anyway if we did get through.

Well at least they can take time over the pre season to get it right.

I hope they do because we really missed him

When he played in the Prelim for Casey after our season was done, I thought to myself ‘why?’

It may be a sign of the respect between clubs and the playing group but the risk did not outweigh that benefit.

And here we are.

The fact we are chasing Gunston is probably a result of this. Incredibly poor decision making from the football dept. Reeks of desperation.

Where has it confirmed that we're chasing Gunston?

He does reek of desperation.  It would have been left in T Macs hands if he wanted to have a crack at it and he choose to do so

It’s still the FD call. They would have to tick it off.

Demonland. Obviously.

I thought they said during coverage last week that someone stepped on his foot?

If so, it might be a bad luck situation rather than poor management.

I assume you're a doctor/physio and you can definitively confirm that the speed of TMac's rehab contributed to the re-injury?

Had his foot stomped on last week which could very likely be what has caused the re-injury.

I remember asking myself "Why" when watching Schwarz run around like a man possessed in a pre-season game starring in the 2s at Lavington after his 1st or 2nd knee reco.
Popped it again early in the 3rd qtr.

In the 2s, playing like it was a final during pre-season.
Could not believe what I was watching.

I believe The Charlatan mentioned this in between moaning about being victimised or some nonsense.

Pretty sure they said on the broadcast after interviewing him that it wasn't that but a kick to the calf..

Its a 6 month injury - one that some don’t ever come back from and he was playing back at 3 months. Now he’s out injured.

I don’t have to be a medic to question wtf they thought they were doing. It’s shambolic.

Hnmmm is it the end for him?

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
