I’m with WCW here @dazzledavey36 . Really enjoy your post and your one of my favourite poster but I think it way to soon to be throwing in the towel. Second week of finals next week and we play the lions who we have had the wood over in recent times.
You may be right about next season but it’s too early to be switching our focus from this finals series.  We should beat the lions next week and if we do then we are in a prelim. Still time to dream.
Added point. If we win flag I’m willing to be a vegan for a month

I have half a bottle of Makers Mark left & almost a whole bottle of Russel's Reserve Single Barrel.  I'll be sipping those slowly but continuously over my week off and asking bro to join me while watching the replay over and over and spending up big on club merch.

Following that i will have a one week dry spell while waiting for merch and visit Dan's for another single barrel.

That will be followed by a further week off once the merch arrives to organise framing and mounting of club merch, then putting away the second single barrel while watching the last three finals on repeat.

After that three week hiatus i might need to consider getting back to work, that's assuming the war office hasn't filed for divorce by then.

If we manage to win it from here (unlikely), it would trump our drought breaking flag from last year by a long long way

All good Colm.

Hope we can go as far as we can.

As a nuffie who doesn't actually understand football, I use sportsbet to substitute for any feelings.

We are still third favourite to win the flag and big favourite to win this week.

While it's not looking great, there's time to cry after the season. For now we should just be excited to smash Brisbane for a third time this year.

That will give the players confidence back and allow the coaches to think through the Geelong match up and come up with a strategy for it.

It's not over yet, think positive until it's over.

CARNA PIES!!!

If we win the flag from here ….I won’t bag out on the what still appears to be a significant portion of our supporter base that for some reason cannot seem to throw off their veil of negativity that sucks the life out of the club, for the rest of the year….. nah, make that for the rest of the month.

I’d love for it to be us vs. Freo coz in the event of the worst thing I’d rather go down to them rather than either of the others.

I'd be envious if you said "with nothing but my Melbourne sock on".

I am not sure this observation is relevant but I have noticed that the players all wear short socks these days.

It will be absolutely incredible if we win from here!

My ideal scenario would be the great Ronald Dale Barassi presenting the Premiership Cup to the victorious Melbourne Demons coach Simon Goodwin and Melbourne Demons captain Max Gawn. This time at a packed MCG filled with many Melbourne Demons supporters. Hopefully this time Simon Goodwin can give a quick speech as well! Especially after being rudely forgotten about by Basil Zempilas last year in 2021.

I will then celebrate by singing "It's a Grand Old Flag" until my voice gives out and cry tears of joy with my Dad who I would hopefully be bringing to the AFL Grand Final at the MCG.

I will definitely have a few drinks and party hard at the Premiership after party and at the Melbourne Demons family day event the next day!

I will also get (more!) photos with another brand new AFL Premiership Cup!

Winning a Premiership at the MCG in front all of us loyal Members Demons members and supporters who couldn't make it over to Perth last year would also be extra special.

It is definitely time to hold the "holy grail" ,the AFL Premiership Cup, aloft for the Melbourne Football Club at our spiritual home the MCG!

GO DEMONS!!! 🔴🔵👹

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

A few years ago, the Melbourne Football Club produced a documentary about the decade in which it rose from its dystopic purgatory of regular thrashings to the euphoria of a premiership victory. That entire period could have been compressed in a fast motion version of the 2025 season to date as the Demons went from embarrassing basket case to glorious winner in an unexpected victory over the Dockers last Saturday. They transformed in a single week from a team that put in a pedestrian effort of predictably kicking the ball long down the line into attack that made a very ordinary Bombers outfit look like worldbeaters into a slick, fast moving side with urgency and a willingness to handball and create play with shorter kicks and by changing angles to generate an element of chaos that yielded six goals in each of the opening quarters against Freo.

  • NON-MFC: Round 07

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Later that evening, Fremantle will be out to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Demons, facing a hungry Adelaide side with eyes firmly set on breaking into the top four. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

  • PREGAME: Richmond

The Dees are back at the MCG on Thursday for the annual blockbuster ANZAC Eve game against the Tigers. Can the Demons win back to back games for the first time since Rounds 17 & 18 last season? Who comes in and who goes out?
