Interesting Emg list. Smith incase Hibberd doesn't get up. Bowey most likely sub. Or can they choose someone not on the list if Hibberd is a late out.

Swans got a tall in doubt? Interesting emergencies.

Jordon must recover quickly from surgery

Interesting games. Tracc Forward Pocket, Fritsch on the Bench

September is when it gets serious

Is JVR a wildcard chance for Sub?

Jordan is not named for tomorrows game.

Was an "out" after being a medi-sub last time.

That is the best team we have available at the moment. Only two different to the starting 2 in the '21GF.

I think we have the Swannies shaded in the midfield and our defence will need to be at their best and have the usual pressure of all team defence up the ground to hold the forwards of Sydney. Our forwards team performed well last week and had great service into the forward 50. Silver service and accurate kicking was a highlight against the Lions.

I still look at our forwards a a week to week proposition. Tough Sydney defence will test them out.

Dees by 4 goals going away.

That’s Premiership team but for Hunt/Bowey which would’ve been for injury.
And Melk for TMac

Hard to believe that people still think that positions in the named team mean anything.

JVR now seems ahead of Weid in the eyes of the club

Great lineup, a winning team (imo)!

Other than the absence of TMac we're in fine fettle. Perfectly placed for another red hot crack at it

We're going to win tomorrow. And win well I reckon

Agree BDA I’m thinking 34 points in a tough slog for 2 1/2 quarters. Go Dees.!!!!

First final at the MCG since 2019!!!

Midfield battle will be the key imv.  Sydney have got a good mix of contested Mids ( Parker, Mills, Rowbottom) and pacy runners (Warner , Gulden, Florent, Stephens). I think if we win contested footy, we will win.

Both teams look very strong on paper. Will be a cracking game but confident our best wins.

Tough call for Bowey, but Salem had to come back in.

Interesting that JVR is in the emergency list .... something happening?  He is the only real tall, though Joel I guess would be ahead of him.

Spargo Still getting a game after 4 poor weeks?? Staggering!

If we can’t smash Parker mills and rowbottom with Viney Clarry Trac then the world no longer makes sense

Big Game from Mr Ed.

A few wanted Bowie to stay but I think we knew Salem was coming back.

  • PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

With both sides precariously positioned ahead of the run home to the finals, only one team involved in Sunday’s clash at the Adelaide Oval between the Power and the Demons will remain a contender when it’s over.  On current form, that one team has to be Melbourne which narrowly missed out on defeating the competition’s power house Collingwood on King's Birthday and also recently overpowered both 2024 Grand Finalists. Conversely, Port Adelaide snapped out of a four-game losing streak with a win against the Giants in Canberra. Although they will be rejuvenated following that victory, their performances during that run of losses were sub par and resulted in some embarrassing blow out defeats.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.
