Some discounted tickets available by following the links and promo code.

Edit. I also got an email from the MCC saying they will open up tickets to provisional members

My son received this email through his junior league this morning. I was absolutely ropable when I saw it as I had purchased category 3 tickets on Monday. Once again the league screws over loyal fans to benefit once a year attendees.

Should be some system that rewards fans who attend every week

so your card counts the number of entries to MFC or MCC and then you are given priority to purchase for the finals

I go MCC every game I can rain or hail then am pushed aside by the once a year members and their visitors

not quite fair in my view

Against the Hawks in 2018 there were at least 35K of them there and probabaly 50 of us.

Against the cats id still say 55K of us 25K them and 10K neutrals because it was the finals series ticket game.

Cats game in 2018 EF  91,767

Hawks game in 2018 QF  90,152

Only time there's ever been  two 90K plus crowds first 2 weeks of finals.

Some people have been paying premium memberships for 16 years that guarantees a finals ticket. They have seen maybe 3.

Is that fair?

The weather shouldn’t be a deciding factor on whether ppl go. I think the club has been lazy in promoting the games this year in general. Just expecting people to show up. It’s a late time slot too, which is a reason for some no shows. I would like to see the club out there encouraging fans to get onboard. The social media posts are just generic, put together by the AFL

AFL Reserve still has tickets "Level 4 - Front" and now also have General Admission tickets from $10 for members meaning it's basically open gates.

My prediction has dropped to 55k.

Low chance of rain at best. Unless you are made of sugar, I believe you (not you specifically, but everyone), can withstand such horrific rainfall.

Totally agree.  The weather app I use (that draws on BOM data but in my opinion gives more realistic hourly predictions on whether there’ll be showers) now says it won’t be showers happening during the game.🤞

In the last couple of games we had at the G it predicted this correctly (whilst BOM was saying there would be showers)

Either way rock up and be loud. Worst case scenario- rain is only falling water!

Just jumped on Ticketek to see how the game is selling  and The Swans now have a ballot up. Find it strange that Priority One have to go in a ballot, I took it that Grand Final Guarantee meant just that. Will we need to Register should we win this weekend. PS The Swans might not have a Grand Final Guarantee connected to Priority One Member. The cats had to do this yesterday.

Sydney Swans Members Grand Final Ballot Registration

Priority One, 8am - 11am:
Premiership Club, SCG Premium, Life Members, VIPs

Priority Two, 12pm - 4pm:
11 game NSW memberships, VIC memberships

Priority Three, 5pm - 9pm:
Red 5, Red 3, Interstate Memberships Supporter membership, Mini Memberships, AFL Silver and Bronze Club Support member

To give yourself the best opportunity to be successful in the ballot, we strongly recommend that you DO NOT select the following option when registering:
*Accept best avail reserved seat - No Standing

By selecting this option you will choose not to accept a standing room ticket - should all reserved seat tickets have been allocated when your registration is next to be processed, you will not be issued with a Grand Final ticket.

look again - probability during game time of about 10%

I have a GFG. If I have to go in a ballot, I will be asking for my money back. It’s not really  a guarantee if you have to enter a ballot.

My Understanding is we have a small window "9am to 11Am" to claim our Grand Final Guarantee ticket, should we miss that window we go into the second window and take our chance.

Not everyone who has a GFG/Priority 1 will want a GF ticket so the ballot is for those interested to register that interest.  It is a ballot in the sense that you take the seat allocated.  Everyone that is Priority 1 will get a ticket if they register their interest in the 'ballot'.

Tickets not taken up by Priority 1 tickets become available for Priority 2 then Priority 3 holders that have registered interest in the ballot.

Yes, the site I look at, now predicting no rain.

Hoping for a dry night, though the spare seats up in the Q levels are undercover.

Sales update plz?

How's level 4 looking?

not much has changed tbh, they put M35 and M36 on sale yesterday and those are just about sold out now so level 1 youd think would be full.

Level 4 hasnt changed too much, hopefully all of Q49-Q57 will have rows A-J sold. Q3-Q10 rows A-T sold. Q1-Q2 and Q11-Q24 rows A-J sold. MCC sold out bar restricted view.

Im thinking 56K which is same as Anzac eve last year and ticket sales look very similar.

They're also now offering walk ups in the AFL members Reserve meaning:

1) AFL members can get free entry if they're happy sit on the top level.

2) They're expecting a rather small turnout in the AFL members. I saw a level 2 seat for sale last night which is unthinkable for a final.

Melbourne supporters are so weird.

Can't wait for the new generation to come through and it's less oldies from south-side of the river who prefer to watch on their 80 inch LG C1's from home to avoid a few raindrops.

Why do our supporters pick and choose so often?

It's a [censored] semi final!

Melbourne only has 2000ish AFL Members and Brisbane way less so the whole area would be reliant on neutrals + potential for GA to open up there.

I agree.

We waited years not to be rubbish. We missed out last year on watching our team win a flag.

Why the feck would you not go this week?

The only barrier I can see is money. Tickets are not cheap and maybe people want to save their money for the prelim in case we make it. But otherwise, I cannot see why you would choose to stay home.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team.
