A win against Sydney sees us play the winner of Freo and the Dogs in the Prelim

Good bit of proactive coaching by the coaching team to bring Harmes into the team with everyone speculating that he would be a defensive tag on Neale. From the first bounce we backed our midfield to win the attacking matchups.

I think it may have thrown the Lions coaches as they had planned on something very different.

We were on the front foot from the very first and had Harmes as a plan B if anyone got ff the leash.

excellent coaching

Jon Ralph. What a stinker. Campaigning against Answerth, when he realises Richmond playing Brisbane W1 of finals.

Not to sure about that Jnrmac. We beat Swans we go direct to the Prelim however the winner of Freo/Dogs, being a elim final would play a loser of a qual final.

Not quite, jnrmac.  The winner of Freo/Dogs would first have to play a semi in week two against the loser of Geelong/Collingwood for the right to meet us in the PF should we beat Sydney.

edit:  snap!

Well folks, I've just come out of surgery or so it seems,  to have the middle lobe of my right lung removed because of a growth in the collapsed lung and my diaphragm piltrated (stiched down).

Don't want to bore you all with the ****ty stuff, but I must say timing of this operation was of not my doing.

To my elation I was to be at the hospital at 6.30 am Friday to be prepped  for a morning procedure that would  likely last 4 hrs. So I'm thinking start at 9 finish at 1 gimee time to come around to watch the game. Didnt allow for the effects of the ongoing drip fed ketamine and oxycodone .

So to say it appeared as a dream is an understatement. In and out of consciousness but managed to see the whole game (I think) unless I have died and gone to heaven.

I had surgery the day before the Carlton game. I was delighted to find that the in room entertainment system had the Kayo app so I spent my recovery watching all our finals games from last year finishing with the GF just before I was discharged. I was very tempted to go to the Carlton game that night but would have definitely popped all my stitches when Kossie sealed it for us.

Already been said I think but it's still awesome to watch how we transitioned the ball from D50, the dare and speed we had on the ball and the courage to go quick through the corridor was phenomenal.

As Goody would want, that was as ruthless a performance as we have dished out this year.

Can't wait for finals, go dees!!

Lucky to get 1 week I think, surely no chance to get off

Kudos to the poster who said "violence is not the Answerth" 🤣🤣

The projectile vomit shown on the telly wAs impressive

Stocks down: The stat sheet will say Jayden Hunt played a decent game but we're not convinced he's in Melbourne's best 22, or 23. Too many mistakes and could be found out in September when the heat is ratcheted up.

Stocks down: The only thing which could derail the Cats' pursuit of that premiership is injuries.

Challenge unsuccessful.

Raynor should hire Paddy Cripps' QC. Worth every cent apparently

Has anyone seen footage of the Answerth suspension?  He got the week suspension for striking ANB (intentional, body contact and medium impact) which I think most assume resulted in the ANB spew, but I haven't seen any footage which is pretty unusual these days.

Cheers for that.  Stupid way to miss a final.

The way that Zorko has tried to deflect from his gutter mouth by saying he was provoked was disgusting.

The AFL should have acted on him and Brisbane should remove the Captaincy.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
