Max King is weird. Gives off Lloyd or even Jono Brown vibes some weeks. Then other weeks like tonight he gives off Jack Watts vibes.

Watts was a good kick for goal.

Not sure not being able to kick a goal from 20 metres is necessarily Ratten's fault!

True but missing finals from 8-3 probably is

Does anyone else want Cam Rayner to get flattened next week? Seems like a a bit of a [censored].

Yep. And Mathieson for good measure.

Yeah, no easy ones out the back that he seems to love.

Let’s be honest.

Saints are a mess, Lions winning plays into our hands as they’ll be pleased with themselves. The Lions style of play suits our defenders.

I am feeling confident about next week's game. If the Saints can dominate the Lions like today how more can the Dees do it!

We got Fritta and Brown that are much better kicks than King

Enjoying the footy tonight Layzie?

Unless St Kilda have a few guns coming through their reserves It’s hard to see them getting close to a premiership with this group, their just so middle of the road it’s not funny.

Whilst Brisbane winning is not a great result, if we beat Brisbane next week we’ll still finish higher than them as they’re percentage is a bit below us.

We’d have to lose by around the 7 goal mark against Carlton to be behind Brisbane on percentage.

Yep. But we just need to win ours and all is good.

Not necessarily.

We could still end up at the SCG if Swans gain a couple of %.

What is our record at the MCG? lost something like 4 out of the last 5?

Interstate? Won 11 or 12 in a row.

BT said they are playing for a home final against us. That’s unlikely. They would need Coll to beat Sydney this Sunday and Carl to best Coll in the last round. It’s the only way.

We win both and unless Coll and StK capitulate against Sydney we will have a home QF.

Yeah, but you want to go to see them at the G yeah? Enjoy the experience?

I just want to win regardless, don’t care where..

Saints supporters won't like me saying this but they are going to have to considered a complete rebuild of their list.

The way they have put it together is completely lopsided in favour of mature recruits not through the draft, this way has never worked previously.

A complete waste of 5 years this will be, all this and their ever expanding debt, a club stuck in the wilderness.

I'm not even talking about that..

If you and the 3 others who liked it would have any small idea you would know I'm talking about his coaching career thus far at St Kilda.  Max King has nothing to do with this.

As a collective, his record at St Kilda has been poor. Their recruitment has been a shambles and they are simply no where near challenging anytime soon. Their depth is made up of recycled players who are handy in playing a role against bottom 4 teams but steuggle against the rest.

There's going to be a significant drop next year and I'll be surprised if Ratten last the journey.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
