Why would we do that? We have one of the best coaches in the game; proven to be able to win flags. Heโ€™s young. Probably the best players coach since Clarkson and we are going to just throw that away for an unproven Yze?

Unless Goodwin is done with it all, we will keep him till the end of the decade surely.

Scott's ego is obviously stronger than his interest in staying in a cushy AFL job. Pretty risky taking a coaching gig at the Bombers.

The thing that tipped Brad's ego over the edge now is Chris' success. Chris Scott is now approaching Hardwick, Clarkson (pending investigation) type status and I am sure there is a bit of jealousy there... sibling and twins rivalry

Adem Yze may end up the perennial bridesmaid ala Brian Royal, R Harvey haha, although his skill set is much different...

Yeah I can't help but think that as well. Twin bro tastes the ultimate success and now the burn is suddenly back!

Barely 24 hours since he has indicated he will submit to the coaching process and he has the gig. Very thorough indeed.

Yeah, must have been PowerPoint againย

Unfortunately the Hawks investigation would not have helped him. Itโ€™s a big enough risk for Essendon to go another inexperienced coach without this hanging over their head.ย

Feel for Yze who deserves a shot, but glad for us - may be a bleessing in disguise for him given they aren't the most stable club

Essendon have so little faith in themselves they have to hire a career 50% coach who fell in to some prelims and left a giant mess behind him?ย

Yze dodged a bullet if this is what they prefer.ย

North Job possibly back open.... investigation dependantย

Would much rather he ends up there than the Bombers anyway

The shadow of the Hawks investigation cost him in the end, whether involved or not. Bad luck to Yze. We get him for another year before he likely lands a senior coaching gig elsewhere.

I think Yze will look back at this and thank his lucky stars. Not the right club for him. He's been on the brink a few times which is no doubt frustrating for him but his time will come.

Well they reckon they went through a clear and structured process so we have no choice but to believe them..

So I'm guessing Adem stays with us for the time being unless there are any moves at Brisbane or North.

Another year at the MFC then I reckon he will pick something up in 2023/2024 season after a 2nd premiership.

Port, WC, something and or someone will drop out.

I wish all the best for Uze,ย  but I really didn't want to see him at Ess.ย  God I hate that mob!

Might be at Port next year after Ken gets sacked

Great Scott! ย It will be interesting to see what he can do with a wealthy club compared to the Roos. ย
ย

Yze will get his chance. ย Odds on there will be 2 vacancies next year, maybe more re: hawks mess.ย

Josh Carr will be the next Port coach, already in the pipe line.

Have a really bad feeling this might be due to Essendon, but I'm hoping not...

*This was done. Yze was going to be heading there. The only hesitation was moving the family but it was all set.

That was until Rutten was sacked.

(*From a VERY good source this time)

Think you might some new sources Nev.. ;)

Btw I'm disappointed for Yze.. it's his absolute ambition to become a senior coach and once again he's missed out..

Must be completely deflating.

Poor bugger

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isnโ€™t a standard conceptโ€”itโ€™s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasnโ€™t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's ย six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his teamโ€™s unfulfilled potential rang true โ€ฆ well, almost.ย
