Agree. Missing Oliver. Our bottom 6 are nowhere near last years level. Forward line not functioning. The mental effect of the Jackson and Brayshaw situation. Port now with a real chance of finals. Port now into $2.45 from $3.10 a week ago. I hate to say this, but I think there is a possibility we miss finals altogether

Wow that's some proper doom and gloom! MFCSS has got you good!

Play like we did against the lions we win, even without Clarry. Produce a performance similar to last week then we lose.

im just not sure which dees will turn up today.

Just back in Bangkok after a very pleasant week in Chiang Mai - lovely place.

I have accepted an invitation from @Sir Why You Little  to again view the game from his "respectable saloon" in Nana. I have some reservations in this as my last visit resulted in 2 or 3 days being erased from my my memory........ ah well.

To the game. What can said but we simply must win to keep clear of the logjam that is forming at the top of the ladder. I reckon Trac and Jack will set the tone but I also hope to see some centre bounce breakaway from Kossie.

Max to kick 3.

Dees comfortably in the end.

Bit of a different pre game for me this week as I am away from Homebase.

Spending the weekend in the Champagne area in a luxury hotel in the hills above Epernay to celebrate my birthday. Champagne tasting and buying, Michelin starred eating, spa treatments etc. I will be watching live with a hangover.

Dees in The Alice by 6 goals.

First time I have started a GAMEDAY thread. Hope I have not stood on any toes.

CHF, love that region and can't wait to get back again. There used to be a restaurant called the 'The Caves' in town that was an excellent experience in quality country french cuisine.

The pub in the town square was great after 9pm as well. Let's hope you get to celebrate a win and prolong the hangover!!

Shouldn’t be hard to spot you then. 😁

I’ll buy you a 🍺!

*goes home stone penniless broke having bought every single bloke wearing a Demons scarf a beer*

Possibly also wearing a Demons cap, and a Katmandu puffer jacket.

Further identification assistance ...  I'll be the oldest person there ... by a fair margin!!

Different for me this week too, CHF. I’ve left France and I’ll be watching in Kuching, East Malaysia.

Go Demons!

Port are in better form than us obviously, so they should start favorites IMO. Our mids need to ramp up the pressure this week and lower the eyes going inside 50. If we can withstand their pressure and do that, then we’ll win. If not then it’s going to be tough and top four looks less likely.

Their form is only marginally better than ours.

They're 3-2 since their bye, we're 2-1. Their wins were against Sydney, Gold Coast and GWS. Ours were against Brisbane and Adelaide. Importantly, all three of their wins were at the Adelaide Oval, too.

Lucky the game is not at the MCG. Given the weather we would lose about $100k with maybe 15,000 in attendance.

Even after the Oliver out on Thursday night team selection I was relatively still confident.  But then having thought it through deeper I reckon the loss of Petty is significant.

MFCSS kicking in for me and now not so confident..

Geez you lot jump off quick. Grow a backbone FFS. Win today and we are equal first a game clear of 3rd. Win by a lot and we could pinch top spot back. Sydney did us a huge favour last night, up to us to take advantage of it. Our only losses this year have been to sides sitting 1st, 4th, 5th and 6th. Port are not a very good side and missing a ruckman. Looking for Max to have a day out and Viney to step up in Oliver's absence. Despite our loss last week Petracca has been back to some of his best hitting the scoreboard with 3 goals in consecutive weeks. On a dry track I expect Kozzie, Bedford, ANB and Spargo to bring the manic pressure we were renowned for last year.

Wow, what a bunch of sad sacks. Does anyone recall that we are the reigning premiers and second on the ladder? And as far as I can tell, the game against Geelong was the only game where our brand wasn’t on show for a fair whack of the game this year.

Demons to relish a dry track.  Thinking they will be relaxed, focused and ready to show Port that they are not close to a top 4 team.

We find connection forward and score over 120.   Port will be lucky to get half that.  Really confident today for some reason! Go Demons!!!

Well surely the players do see the ladder & how close it is at the top.

If the players are hungry for a top 2 spot they will win today.

Lets take our top spot back

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
