Death, taxes and a Luke Darcy comment when a team is 3 goals up “next goal becomes super important”

As well as Carlton are playing, Cats 17 scoring shots to Blues 8. Blues half forwards being murdered.

im watching the Freo match and heart rate decreasing

No ... that's quite normal.

However I'm sure you don't hate them as much as me.

When we speak of learnings i hope our club has learned not to stand the line when marking an OOTF.

The Doggies clever.  Started using the outside 5 rule to protect the inside play on or kick from this situation a fair while back.

Cats & the Blues have now learnt and are also doing this tonight.

As of last week we were still standing the line.

You know the thing about the cats, they never seem to overuse the handball, it's generally one or two followed by a kick. Even when we're playing well, we just seem to overdo it, and that issue has plagued us since Neeld. There have obviously been games that are the exception but too few and far between.

You have to applaud the Cats. As much as i hate to say it, they are the real deal and will be a difficult proposition in Sept.

Pressure has been through the roof and the Bkues look gassed.

Scoreboard flatters the Blues. Their defensive ability across the whole ground is not there yet. They’re zero chance of winning the premiership this year due to that, but will be a serious contender in the coming years.

Both Freo and Sydney are serious contenders. Freo for mine are ready to swoop on the flag. They’re probably the best defensive team going at the moment, and defense is what wins premierships.

Haha, if you need therapy we probably all do. I feel ill just thinking about them winning the flag. I'd take anyone above them atm.

Can't believe I'm saying this because I'm going to have to wash my mouth out with metho..

But Geelong are genuinely the real deal this year unfortunately.

Blues fans sooking about the umps is priceless. Without their help this year they would struggle to make the 8.

yep. It’s hard to say isnt it, but  right now they’re the flag favorites. Gonna take a lot of beating to get past them now.

The only thing would be whether they have peaked a bit too early..

Yeh very strong allover the field the [censored].  Hard to find a weak area.  Maybe the ruck but usually that isnt a huge factor.  Certainly well organised, maintain their structure and strong over the ball.

They attack the ball carrier straight away ...no hesitation at all.  The opp is always under frontal pressure.

Freo might be a team to counter this frontal pressure as they prefer to fold back and then counter vs the attacking forward style of the Blues.  Where do we sit here i wonder?

Cats are the most efficient team in the league atm. 18 scoring shots from 36 entries

[censored] I hate them

Dedicating the win to noble is like The equivalent of your ex-missus dedicating her first post relationship root to you

Our defense isnt to bad either

What a pity Carlton are losing.  If they had won. 7 sides on 48. At this moment. Quite close. Really

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
