I think it is best not to pay attention to him and just land some nice hard tackles on him at every chance.

Shame May isn’t playing….

This day has the potential to turn very dark if we don't get our game going. So fumbly, giving up the corridor too easy on turnover. I don't feel like Collingwood has done well to come back, I feel like we've given them their opportunities.

At times we look like we're running with lead in our boots. I'd prefer to not hear the loading and de-loading excuse today. Lift boys, get it done so we can limp into the bye.

Our defence is looking better than the last couple of weeks.

we need to ride out the push from the Pies in the 3rd and we’ll run over them by 30pts+

Put Harmes on DeGoey.  Needs a cooler.

Kozzie the invisible man so far.  I'd be switching him on to Daicos as a hard lock and run off role if he wins the one on one....give him the challenge to win defensively first...then go go go to damage.  He cant just be a forward crumb in a big game as he just doesnt get enough of it (at this point...might happen later as he gets stronger, tougher, more experience)

Bowey is well out of form unfortunately. Hunt or Rivers would be more effective on form.

Yep, needs a run in the 2’s, as he’s been having 0 impact on games lately.

It's obvious from level 4 of the ponsford we are just not moving. We get the ball and the team is stagnant. No one leading into space. M.brown non existent

Harmes streaming into the 50 runs to 40m and doesn’t make the distance or doesn’t have a shot. I’m unsure which it was but I was sick to death of this from last week as well

I'm not sure why he'd pass to Jackson. We had momunteum there & that play was great out of the middle. Harmes had to finish that off.

We have lost our last 2 2nd halves after great starts.

Playing this ultra defensive, slow and boring game plan is just so bad too watch when our contests and effort to get to contests are poor. It's funny how people blame the forwards but literally every time we get the ball backward of centre we slow it down and kick to contests...and we look extremely bad in the contest...

Some good signs but gee our decision making and efficiency is poor at times.

Need Kozzie to get involved and ANB to make more of his opportunities.

Jackson better this week but not making them pay.

Oliver, Petty, Jordon good.

Is it time to move Trac forward? Sure he got a few touches that quarter, but his impact is minimal atm.

I think it's all because of our poor kicking of late, players seems to lack confidence and prefer to defer responsibility

Correct, he serves no purpose, doesn’t crash packs and can’t take a contested mark.

I would much rather Weid up forward despite his recent performances.

I'll be very, VERY surprised if we win this. Collingwood just look primed to absolutely go nuts. Just like Freo. Brace yourselves fam.

No thanks.   They kill us on turnovers through the middle, should be in front if they kicked straight

So what’s your plan, do the same thing and hope like hell for a different result? Freo, Sydney now pies playing the same way and cutting us up, if not for their inaccuracy pies would be in front. We won’t win with slow ball movement down the wings, as we don’t have aerial marking ability inside forward 50 to compete with the 18 pies players firmly entrenched down there when we give them time to get back

Got a serious problem with his confidence at the mo. Something’s going on with the boy I reckon, hope he’s ok, and it’s nothing more than just a natural human lull.

We’re just not sticking tackles like we were last year. It makes a big difference that pressure, completely changes how they’re going forward and allows our defenders to zone off and intercept. Without the defensive pressure going up, our defenders can’t zone off and can’t stop someone as tall as Cox on the air.

We’ve had our weapons taken away for us for the last 4-6 weeks and we’ve been brought back to the middle of the pack. On form we’re obviously not top four, but there’s still plenty of time left in this season to get back on track before finals. The midfield and forward line need complete resets. Midfield getting embarrassed around the ball and poor kicking inside 50. Forward line not converting, even when they manage to get shots.

Hard when you only spend 61%on the field

Trac 14th in the team re AF points to the half.

Gets the footy. Impact is low.  He’s not running or hitting targets. Stats can be deceiving in terms of impact.

Shame Bedford is not the Sub.

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.
