We will not just beat them, we will murder the filth on Queens birthday 2022.

I just feel it in my bones.

We are a club with values and principles with their backs against the wall. We are a club prepared to sanction and suspend those who step outside those principles.

We have been blasted 24-7 since Sunday in the press for all the wrong reasons, when there is so much going right.

So many supporters, members, players, coaches, and admin staff and everyone else who loves our club will be bleeding red and blue right now. Angry as [censored]. Channelling this anger and applying it to playing football will be the secret weapon.

Against a club whose questionable values and principles failed to suspend a player for a not so dissimilar transgression in another country. Against members of the public. The value differential between the two sides is stark. And this is key.

Time to make a stand Melbourne. Time to murder the filth.

Time to turn up and finally enjoy an old fashioned epoch-making Melbourne MCG slaughter of the filth of truly epic proportions.

Don't have tickets and want to witness the murder?

I have 2 tickets I bought 2 weeks ago that I no longer need, as I've accepted an invitation to the murder from the hallowed seats of the MCC for only the 2nd time in my life.

The 2 adjacent tickets are on the 2nd row, 4th level, Olympic stand, next to the MCC on the wing.

I'd hate them to go to waste. They cost me $53. I'm happy to give them away for free to a Demonlander so that they can also witness the murder with their own eyes.

1st Demonlander to PM me will get the tickets.

Go Dees!

[censored] I hope you’re right. I also feel it in my waters too.

How many sherbets have you had old mate.

Good read though. "old fashioned epoch-making Melbourne MCG slaughter" is a great line haha

Loved having a few Sherbets tonight DemonWa. Allows the creative juices to flow. Glad you enjoyed my litracha!

I truly hope we absolutely rip them to shreds. The club has been questioned this week. If we can't get up for this after the fortnight we've had then I feel back to back just ain't within the realm of possibility.

Firstly, 'AC/DeeC' is brilliant.

Secondly, I felt this was a line in the sand game before the May incident. We needed to go into the bye with a win to steady. We have a very tough road home.

Having said that, if the events of this week don't pull leaders like brown, petracca and lever out of their slumps not sure what will.

We must play for each other, but more so we must take our chances when we get them.

Love your sentiment @AC/DeeC

We'll put in a big performance for sure. I don;t think we'll belt them but i reckon we'll win by 30 points or so

Go Dees

Do they have a young player we can attack, as they did to Jack Watts all those years ago?

LOVE your high-spirited enthusiasm!!!

A very welcome contrast to the all-too-prevalent defeatism (alcohol-induced or otherwise). 😁

And I’m with you! We’ll smash the ne’er-do-wells into the middle of next week!!!

GO THE MIGHTY DEES!!!

Agreed.

People need to get their heads around the fact that it's not 2021 anymore.

Apparently our defensive pressure which was the hall mark of last year has gone from elite to mid table or worse.

Edited by Bring-Back-Powell

I think we are a club now that wants to make statements in September, not mid-June.  As long as we make no compromises to that long term goal, then sure, a win would be nice.  As dissappointing the May event is, and as annoying it is to be under the media spotlight for all the wrong reasons at the moment, at the end it is nothing but fugazi.

I'm tipping Viney to give De Goey some 'forcible touching' of his own

Ha, I just googled forcible touching as I wasn't sure I spelt it right and De Goey appears in the images when you search it!

I have a feeling this will be a flogging one way or another.

Will the dees be the flogger or the floggee ?????

A link in the chain is broken, trust has been broken, culture has been broken, not a quick fix.

Its about time we flogged someone.

The goings on this week have left me cranky.

Once more, unto the breach dear friends.....

I'll believe it when i see it

I see a lot of the doom and gloom purveyors have shown themselves.

There was a time during the current Melbourne cycle that goes back to before the premiership when the club was the toughest to beat in the fourth quarter. The Demons were not only hard to beat at any time but it was virtually impossible to get the better them when scores were close at three quarter time. It was only three or four years ago but they were fit, strong and resilient in body and mind. Sadly, those days are over. This has been the case since the club fell off its pedestal about 12 months ago after it beat Geelong and then lost to Carlton. In both instances, Melbourne put together strong, stirring final quarters, one that resulted in victory, the other, in defeat. Since then, the drop off has been dramatic to the point where it can neither pull off victory in close matches, nor can it even go down in defeat  gallantly.

  • CASEY: Footscray

At twenty-four minutes into the third term of the game between the Casey Demons and Footscray VFL at Whitten Oval, the visitors were coasting. They were winning all over the ground, had the ascendancy in the ruck battles and held a 26 point lead on a day perfect for football. What could go wrong? Everything. The Bulldogs moved into overdrive in the last five minutes of the term and booted three straight goals to reduce the margin to a highly retrievable eight points at the last break. Bouyed by that effort, their confidence was on a high level during the interval and they ran all over the despondent Demons and kicked another five goals to lead by a comfortable margin of four goals deep into the final term before Paddy Cross kicked a couple of too late goals for a despondent Casey. A testament to their lack of pressure in the latter stages of the game was the fact that Footscray’s last ten scoring shots were nine goals and one rushed behind. Things might have been different for the Demons who went into the game after last week’s bye with 12 AFL listed players. Blake Howes was held over for the AFL game but two others, Jack Billings and Taj Woewodin (not officially listed as injured) were also missing and they could have been handy at the end. Another mystery of the current VFL system.

The Demons head back out on the road in Round 10 when they travel to Queensland to take on the reigning Premiers and the top of the table Lions who look very formidable. Can the Dees cause a massive upset? Who comes in and who goes out?

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.
