A friend bumped into Karl's father during the St Kilda & Port game last weekend. He gave a sneaky hint that Saints are the destination of choice and I believe he supported the Saints growing up.

Is that like the 2022 version of the Kreuser Cup ??

Do we have to win .... or lose ( to win )  ???

Would be a very good get. Anyone that doesn't rate him doesn't watch Port (completely understandable).

He's a damn good player - finished 4th in Port's B&F last year, and top 10 in 2020 as well.

This was from Ports game review thread last night. Obviously a small sample size, but I always find what opposition supporters say about their own players to be reasonably insightful.

(in a non trade-week sense when everyone is worth 2 first rounders)

Amon - couple of average moments but his kicking absolutely cut the dogs to shreds last night

Thought Amon broke the game open with some beautiful ball movement

Amon has his laser boot back.

Amon very good with some real pin point passes that cut the Dogs up

My biggest and only negative apart from goal kicking.
Does Amon look and playing disinterested?

Really good player, I think there is every chance he goes to the Saints, but glad we're in the conversation.

If you can slot him in on the wing opposite Langdon and push Brayshaw back into the midfield rotation i think that greatly improves the team

Depends if he’s interested in winning a flag or not.

Only really seen him play a bit,  not paid much attention to the kind of player he is, if he isn’t guaranteed a starting 22 spot, would he want to come to the club?

If we got him, who would he replace in the best 22?

Not sure about 22 but would replace Baker on the list. Similar situation to Dunstan, securing depth.

Actually I've under-rated him, would probably push out Jordon or take Brayshaws spot if he leaves. Didn't realise he was only 26 still a few good years left you'd think.

If we do land him , some dominoes in the 22 reqd as he is too talented as ‘depth’.

IMV he either takes Gus’s role on the wing and Gus either moves down to HB or the midfield rotation. Puts the heat on JJ, Harmes and Sparrow.

Option 2, he moves to HF to mix it with Spargs, Kozzy and ANB. For me it’s a direct upgrade on ANB’s current role. ANB can then moved into the midfield rotation at the expense of players above or stay in the forward rotation as a pressure forward.

Ultimately gives us lots of options to reshuffle and improve the 22. Biggest and obvious issue is salary cap space. Just cannot see it getting done with the current cap . Possibly a move to to keep ahead on the LJ front and/or tactics to keep Brayshaw’s mgt honest.

Amon has too run a lot more both ways to impress me as a genuine winger  those heat maps show him around the same area,  that is my point

Not hugely damaging in his present role

Have you seen Langdon’s heat maps? That’s where wingers get the ball. Teams aren’t going to let wing men just rack it up in the forward half

Going to be a lot easier to convince Gus and Jackson to stay for unders than it is matching market rate on a guy who’s likely to move.

If Jacko goes home or Gus wants a different role and a big pay day then that’s another question. Amon would be a good back up.

Unless his primary motive is to win a flag , and the opportunities that being a premiership player may bring him.

Would think that we could fashion a Salem/ Daniel Rich  role from half back or wing or even centre. With our superior development and coaching.
Or would he be more damaging as a half forward?

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
