Got there. I reckon we might be bringing a few blokes in next week.

Great win.  Players fading in the last.  2 weakened by covid. 3- 4 hadn't played AFL tempo for a while.

Bank the 4 points and move on.

bank it and move on

Very few highlights save that Bedford is ready.

Not sure what if anything it did to solve the Weid v T Mac debate

Need to play a lot better next week

Full credit to Hawthorn.

But Max and Tracca stood up big time.

so to Oliver.

The reliable trio.

Nice cameo from Bedford

The absolute putrid biased commentators were over the top.

How about talking up the team with 5 out

Very happy for Bedford. A game which could turn out to be a blessing in disguise.

We were cooked in the last. Our forward entries were as bad as possible

Top 8 taking shape.  Cream rising to the top.

No matter what happens this round we will be 2 games clear of 5th team (and maybe 4th).

Strong position.

When you win under those conditions it proves you are a very good team. Go Dees!

Undefeated 👹

Still haven't beaten anyone above us. Oh!

The Hawks are always a nuisance against us, I'm just glad we take the points and there were some good positives today (not the covid ones), like Bedford.

Another game where we should take the 4 points and move on, hopefully with more of our list available.

A little wobbly at times, but we'll get there - definitely by the time we win the flag again this year.

A wakeup call without losing is a good result, hawthorn showed everyone the blueprint on how to beat us, take it quick through the corridor and keep lever accountable.

Need to tidy up our forward fifty entries as well, we kept sitting it on top of a contest and expected someone to clunk it which didnt look nearly as good hitting up a lead.

I think this game also shows how important Goody is, feel like his influence on the boundary line is a lot more important than we know

Watching 2 teams having a red hot go, both butchering the ball at every opportunity, both equally clumsy, sloppy and error-riddled, for the Dees to do things 5% cleaner and get the win. So glad we bat deep int our list because that was very close to a loss tonight.

A lot of rusty players, and by the end of the game, tired.

But we won, are still on top, and so far can take on every challenge.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
