Did you guys see the interview on Ch 7 after the game? Bowey getting interviewed and Trac n Clarry giggling like kids

such gold

Chunk got in on the act of the rev-up as well, which I thought was great watching to have another ex MFC player asides from Garry in on the action.

In some game soon, he will get beaten by his direct opponent for the first time, and (hopefully not) the Dees will lose one with him playing. These two things will be the making of him. Once he faces difficulty and emerges the other side, I see him as a 200+  gamer.

Why?

Why can't he just go through his 200+ game career undefeated 😊😉?

So was thinking of this kid after another great performance on Sunday night.
What does the future hold for Bowey?  He may continue to hone his craft and become a champion HB flanker, but is there a role where his attributes can be further beneficial to the team?

Clearly he won’t become a KP player, but does he get a chance to run through the midfield / wing? And perhaps add further weaponary to deliver ball inside 50. He needs to add size and build further fitness but he is super smart footballer and having him learn the midfield craft maybe an ingenious move.

I really like Brayshaw in HB as a pinch hitter for Salem and he plays the role pretty good as well. So we could definitely cover for him. Happy if he stays as-is as well. Food for thought.

Or alternatively, does it give us the opportunity to play Salem further up the ground?

I really think we could do with his elite level smarts and foot skills distributing the ball inside 50 more.

And/or they could both be rotated higher up the ground and get that opertuity and help the MFC find that next gear we've been searching for but haven't quite found so often this season.

A significant number of our goals come from defence. You need people that can distribute accurately. Salem and Bowey are perfect. They won't be moving.

Would be highly unusual for a back to back Premiership team to win two Rising Stars in a row

Just sayin....

Do you really think that the AFL, in their “no agenda” mindset, would not have a Daicos winning this award?

16 wins

Premiership

2 rising star noms

Can the powers that be give this man the honour he deserves.... An official demonland emoji

Still undefeated champion of the world, also proves big things come in small packages.

.... and tough as. Just got up and on with it after that illegal bump. Did not worry about it at all.

I still laugh when i think back to draft night when we call out his name and David King goes "Some people are born with it all, a 175cm red head"

Forget the flag, let’s get Bowey to 23-0

Let's get Bowey to 24-0. I want us to break Geelong's record, not equal it!

The way he bounced up after that hit and was in a contest soon after, WOW, just WOW.

Time to get this kid back into the side and start another games winning streak.

In fact, let's turn it into a premership winning streak for Bowser.

I'd like to see us fit him back in. He was looking a bit exposed at times physically before he was dropped but we have definately missed his creativity to turn defence into attack with a 20-30 m kick from the back half recently

The concern with Bowser is his 1 v 1 defending. Something we are probably in need of down back.

Wouldn't be opposed to trying him elsewhere though.

I'd easily have Bowey back.

But I'd rather him playing his natural position we drafted him for and that was that half forward/wing role.

Could he play a defensive forward role in replacement of ANB?Certainly need connection forward of centre.

Bye rounds in the VFL aren't helping any of these guys earn a call up - same applies to JVR too

FWIW I thought Jake played very well in his last VFL game but that was 2 weeks ago

Don't mind the idea of including him in the team because his disposal is usually good but not sure who he replaces (love what ANB brings but he has been a little out of sorts lately - a couple of other small forwards are also under scrutiny)

Where is Jake Bowey? He's gone missing.

Premiership player, super talent, rising star nominee and now he's nowhere to be seen.

Playing for Casey Demons.

Second year player still finding his feet.

Had a great end to last year but is nowhere near the finished product and needs to continue to improve his defensive game.

Will be a nice replacement for Hibbo when he's finished....

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
