Scary thing?

He's only 25 years 3 months old. And "hates losing".

With his much improved kicking he now hurts the opposition. Unlike many leesser accumulators like Mitchell and McCrae.

Importantly was a Goodwin project from day 1.

He is only 24. Lol!!!

We have used so many superlatives in the season reviews for players #1 to #12, I wondered if there would be any left for #13 (😄).
To me, a post match interview late in the H&A season (can’t remember exactly which match) says it all ……. after another ‘off the charts’ performance, he responded to the interviewer’s question by stating: “I just hate losing”.
He gets battered from pillar to post every game (often unfairly), but he just bounces back up like the true champion he is, and goes about dominating games of football.  Say no more!

That was the moment.  My confidence soared. We’d kicked 7 in a row to obliterate the Dogs.  Clarry knew it.  He showed we are number 1.

Great year young man.  Clarry… you’re a champion. !!!

Yep, same. I went through the roof. Watching it in the replay, this goal is still the moment where the hair on the back of my neck stands up.

Love the look on his face as he salutes the crowd too. None of the usual excited child bouncing around you see from him sometimes. A stern look of concentration. We’re crushing them, but the job’s not done yet.

We may never again in our lives see a midfield combination like Petracca, Oliver and Viney. I’m definitely going to enjoy it while it lasts.

Robbie. He also could do things that others could not then or even today.

That he was a natural without the training and development of today's players is a measure of his greatness.

Clarrie and Trac deserve to be next in line.

Totally agree though Clarrie and Trac are the best 'rovers' I have seen in red and blue.

When somebody looks at Clayton's statistics over his career todate shows he is virtually elite in most categories.

He has 2 AA and Premiership medal to show for his body of work and this year he has increased his kicking disposal and has now included goals, he took on the responiblity of shadowing Bontempelli in the 2nd half of the 3rd quarter helping Petracca to grab the game by the scruff of the neck.

If players like Clayton reach their peak at 25 then next year will be sensational.

What a year and he is still vastly underestimated by the media and opposition supporters.

But he reached new levels in team play kicking hand balling  and fierceness and determination the longer this season went.

And whether he was asked to or he used his initiative to ghost the Bont after half time it was a master stroke as Trac took over the game and Clarry wore down the Bont and starred  in the 16 goal shellacking that followed.

Best quarter and a half of footy from the Dees in my 63 years of watching and how scary is that fir the future! Many of our "role" players played equal to or their best ever game in the GF. Big game nerves not on our watch Most improved and all contributed.

When our A graders all get going we are unstoppable as the 1.5 last quarter and a half showed.

Clarry and Trac led the way but all the team were in sync and contributed on the biggest stage yet. What more could we ask?

To do it at the G in Sept 2022 again in front of our absolute ( great adopted faithful and many true fans who found their way West to WA ) faithful at home!!

Thank you Clarry and 43 others who have made our lives just that more brilliant by your exploits and feats during  an unforgettable premiership braking drought year of a standard hard to top in excellence and excitement and of course achievement.

Long May it continue !! ( no pressure).

Tough as nails. Imagine what his effects on a game might be without being bashed every five minutes with umpires not intervening. Same for Big Max.

Has there been better at MFC ? Petracca an equal perhaps, however, Oliver adds to the Petracca glamour.

Both do things that other footballers can’t.

Petracca brilliant. Oliver first player picked at the table. Love the fact he abstains from the media, amazing character of the game.

Agreed.

The consensus within the club was that living at Joondalup suited the team. It was an ideal way to prepare for games and importantly took them away from the pressure cooker environment of Melbourne.

The feeling was that the pressure would have been much worse for the team in Melbourne particularly for the young players and those without finals experience.

In particular, a comment from one of the coaches went along the lines that Petracca would have been fine in Melbourne but Oliver would have struggled.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
