Had an impressive 2 marks for the 2022 finals series.

The most overrated player I’ve seen at the Melbourne Football club since Michael Newton.

Does that make him a "unicorn"?

Surely Freo and WCE will reassess and he’ll stay at Melbourne. But maybe then we won’t be afraid to drop him when he deserves it.

Originally it was 2x first rounders. But he’s value has dropped and he’s lost all sense and smarts in his game. “Captain fumbles”. In the air and on the ground. So much potential.  So very very disappointing.  I’ll feeling I’ll.
I’ll take whatever we can get.
Freo 1st round 2022 and Freo future 2nd round 2023 for Jackson.

Brutal lol.

I thought he was horrible last week but tonight he was just a genuine liability.

Thanks for helping us with the flag dogga.

Enjoy family time.

Jackson is a gun, and will be absolutely elite for the next 10 years. He is only 20 years old, and big players take longer to mature. This year was a wake up call to coaches, players and supporters. Next year will be different.

I would not change our list much at all, albeit, playing J.Smith and JVR up forward, and rewarding more Casey players for good games.

Jackson is a lock for us.

Joel Myth

Is very clearly struggling with injuries.
If he stays I will be delighted. If he leaves I’ll be absolutely furious.

i'll be disappointed more than furious

i think he's got the potential to be a unique player but having had a knee niggle for two of his three seasons in football is a clear concern

can't believe freo are likely to jettison three players in their semi-final side - acres, lobb, logue - to be able to bring him in

Thank you Jacko for the memories.

Get the picks in and get to work JT.

We need Talls who take clean pack grabs.

Checked out long ago! Enjoy Freo, seriously OVERATED!

He is not overrated. He is a young kid that the media and our own supporters pumped up to stupid levels of expectation of a young ruckman.
He hasn’t been good for a while, but this kid has a lot of potential. In 5years time we will lament the fact he is no longer with us.

I truly hoped he would stay, and I don’t look forward to watching him play against us in the years to come.

No chance we get 3 first round draft picks for a player that is such a poor mark of the football.

That’s a better deal than GWS got for Jeremy Cameron, and Jeremy Cameron is pretty much the best player in league football at the moment and a far more proven quantity than Jackson.

With relation to Lobb, he’s the sort of player we should he targeting. A genuine forward that can ably pinch hit in the ruck as opposed to a ruck that doesn’t have any forward craft such as Gawn and Jackson.

If they are going to pay him the price they have asked, you will have push for compensation.

Definitely has The Tim Taranto vibe about it. Strikingly similar both appear to have checked out!

  • GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs Adelaide

  • WHAT’S NEXT? by The Oracle

What’s next for a beleagured Melbourne Football Club down in form and confidence, facing  intense criticism and disapproval over some underwhelming recent performances and in the midst of a four game losing streak? Why, it’s Adelaide which boasts the best percentage in the AFL and has won six of its last seven games. The Crows are hot and not only that, the game is at the Adelaide Oval; yet another away fixture and the third in a row at a venue outside of Victoria. One of the problems the Demons have these days is that they rarely have the luxury of true home ground advantage, something they have enjoyed just once since mid April.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
