What’s your favourite GOAL from the Grand Final?

Featured Replies

I know, I know, it’s like having to pick your favourite child. But if you had to choose one goal, which would it be?

For mine, 3rd quarter, Tom Sparrow’s huge kick from barely off a step. And his pumped-up celebration afterwards.

Fritschs 2nd from the run in 3rd quarter.

Snapped me back to the reality that the sky was not falling and we were still in it.

Oliver’s that happened 10 seconds of play time later. The break out of the middle, the absolute jet of a handball from the ruckman and BANG from 50. Just for the fact that the whole thing happened at full pace.

Adrenaline made the boys in that play super human. I wanted to run through walls after it too.

Gus - critical at the time, gutsy mark, fantastic kick and huge celebration and pump up

Oliver’s goal at the end of the third quarter, it was the one the really broke the doggies back and it was a fantastic team goal with Viney scrubbing it forward, Jackson with the clean hands and perfect handball, Clarry with the finish. What a site to behold.

Trac’s 2nd. It seemed to dribble for an eternity for me, slow motion, and you could see instantly it was going in. I know these type of goals are second nature, but to do that so perfectly, in a grand final, game in the balance, with 57 years of pressure and being one of the main men… just ice cool.
And Kozzie’s cameo adds some extra flavour.

When Gus took that flying mark in the 3rd q and then slotted through for a goal to give us the lead.🤗

His reaction was my favourite of the night, it meant so much to him.

I’m going Salem’s goal in the last because of his reaction. A smile of pure joy and happiness.
Game was done by then, but the gather with one hand in amongst traffic was first class.

TMac's goal after the siren ... because we were already PREMIERS when it happened!!!

Serious answer is probably Oliver's, just the unstoppable wave of red and blue surging out of the middle, leaving the Dogs in the dust. Seriously beautiful football.

Petracca’s dribbler

Oliver's goal.   I was jumping around the house. I knew we were close.

Also huddo's commentary of the goal was the best of the night

Fritsch's 4th, the almost hangar with the quick recovery.  That was when I knew we weren't going to roll over.

I love how kept on his feet despite having jumped so high.

There were a few i liked. The Trak one at the beginning of the game, TMac's at the end, and all the deez ones in between. Other than that, Bont's snap of the left foot 70 metres out was pretty handy.

Mine is the Fritsch goal. He seemed to float through the air, knee'd Wood in the head and almost took the mark (Gawny ruined it). He then landed like a cat and dribbled a massive goal. He got the crowd up and about and I think it was potentially the loudest roar of the night (wasn't there so can't confirm).

Oliver's goal. He was brilliant and to see our most selfless player kick what was effectively the sealer was something to behold.

Brayshaws set kick . I knew we were going to win the flag at that point.

Sparrow's bomb comfirmed it as did Olivers  as did Petraccas!

Oliver's at the end of the third. Jackson runs in looking like he got that bike for Christmas that he asked Santa for but thought he wouldn't get. Then Sparrow runs in looking like his lost puppy has come back home. Sheer joy!

Real tough question

The Sparrow bomb was one I enjoyed most live, partially due to importance and also the goalsquare jostling

But in terms of re-watching the Oliver one, primarily for slow motion swearing by LJ aha

Oliver's goal.

Not just the speed, the beauty and the purity of the score but also because, watching it in replay, there is a sense of rampaging demons running over and past the only doggie in the way.

Dominance.

ANB's. Because after that goal I knew we had won the game and I could enjoy the rest of the game.

Same here in that I knew it was won but fav goal is Fritta - land on your feet son.  Gets double points as it was on Easton Wood.

This one by JTR.  It had BT out of his tree and energised the team from any self-doubt. And it was fed of a Trac clearance signalling his intent to deliver.

Then daylight.

But i can think of 4 or 5 you could argue.
