Dwayne's Most Watchable in 2022

Criteria:

Pick someone from Collingwood, Essendon. Richmond and Carlton. Big 4 clubs appeased and will keep audiences up.

Then better pick someone from the premiers & runners up or I’ll look stupid.

Round out the 10 with interstate sides for national click bait.

Done.

Derwaynne - I would watch Kozzie, Tracy, Clarrie, Max and Jacko before most of those.   (Maybe I am a bit biased) 🙄

It’s a team game - I like watching the half per centers  and centre square breakaways.
Let Wines have his Brownlow.

He's allowed to have his opinion of who he likes watching. And, of course, you can all disagree and make your own lists.

Even though we've just won a premiership, MFCSS keeps popping out of the woodwork in all the usual manifestations.

Apparently being voted the best player in a GF and producing on the biggest stage of all isn't very watchable these days 😥.

Neither is winning the coaches votes for the season, getting 33 possessions, 10 tackles , shutting down Bont and a nail in the coffin goal in a GF. Voted the most selfless player by your teammates in a trend other clubs are trying to follow.

Or a giant who is All Australian captain, kicked a goal after the siren to see his team win minor premiers and kick 5 goals in a preliminary final from anywhere he got it within 60m.

Dwayne hardly the best judge, he'd go off like a pork chop for Clayton Hinkley.

Now that’s an oddly specific, obscure reference. If I remember correctly, a certain loud Demonland member, who is still around but mostly posts on BigFooty, was a massive Clayton Hinkley fan.

Edit: actually I might be thinking of Clayton Collard. So many of these Clayton’s Claytons from the mid 2000s that were supposed to be good but weren’t. Thanks goodness we got the real one.

My top 10 most watchable:

1. Kozzy Pickett - magic happens!

2. Isaac Heeney - if he's injury free he'll be nearly the best player in the comp.

3. Liam Ryan - pace, leap, execution!

4. Charlie Cameron - the next Betts.

5. Harry McKay - reckon he's in for a 70 plus season.

6. Christian Petracca - who wouldn't want to see more of Norm?

7. Dustin Martin - legend of the game.

8. Shai Bolton - always exciting. Can mess it up but won't die wondering.

9. Toby Greene - mainly just enjoy watching him self-destruct.

10. Scott Pendlebury - my favourite non-demon

You would rather watch Pendlebury then Oliver???

As Darth Vader would say..... "I find your lack of faith dusturbing"!

Second place Tim Ruffles, the least popular AFL player named after a chip.

Bold statement, given the number of Smiths that have played the game.

There was also a Pringle, so you've got plenty of variety to choose from.

My list (excluding Melb players due to bias:- koz, Trac, Oliver, Jacko, Gawn, Fritsch, Salem would all feature)

1.  Bont              (Class & match winner)

2.  Liam Ryan    (Excitement, weekly hangers)

3.  Dusty             (Don’t argue)

4.  Nic Nat          (Freakish ruck-taps)

5.  Josh Kelly      (Skill + ability to hit a target)

6.  Buddy       (The strut, and bombs from 60m)

7.  C. Cameron   (Speed, stupid celebrations)

8.  Robbie Gray    (Class/skill/match-winner)

9.   Danger       (Explosiveness)

10. Greene      (Mad, head explosions)

Agrre with nearly all of these, except for Danger (not exciting to see a bloke trying to kick it to himself) & Greene ( I want to watch footy not a sideshow, however I will admit he can play. What about Touk Miller ?

Good call:-  I forgot about Touk. Happy to sub him in for Danger.

agree re Greene:-  the commentators obsession with him can be hard to watch also. Maybe sub old mate Jesse Hogan in for Greene?

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
