Lockhart stiff.  got some real talent

not sure if footy these days helps him though, not too many small back pockets playing

I must say I would have liked to keep Lockhart and the other three were the right choices.

Agree, super stiff. He was actually quite good.

Unfortunate that Neitschke didn't get a real run at it, especially considering that players he got drafted with are now premiership players.

Best of luck to them all.

It is a ruthless time, drinking with your team mates celebrating a premiership, next day off the list.

D Smith plays the small defender role and can play

Unfortunate for Lockhart, I thought he showed enough to get another spot next year

Thanks to Vanders for the service, loved the way he played his footy when we were struggling.

Looks like Nev Jetta has retired.

Good call butv  it's a shame the finals came a season too late for him.

One of my favourites

Bashed up his body bailing out Oscar imo

One of my absolute favorites for a long time. Hugely underrated. Put his body on the line for years and held a paper thin defense together.
He is another big part of our success, having always set standards and been an amazing mentor to so many, but especially Kosi.
Absolutely love him and thank him for everything he has done for us. A truly resilient, wonderful human being on and off the field.

All the best to Vanders too. I reckon GC should grab him. Could help set standards and protect some of their younger players.

I must say I am quite surprised the amount of delistings.

It looks like Jones and Nev have retired.

VDB & melksham will be traded for token picks if they find homes.

Plus the three delistings.

That's 7 list spots to fill with 3 picks all above 33.

I get Bedford and Lockhart confused. Lockhart was the small defender right?

When Smith and Hunt are out of the team for Hibberd, Tomlinson to come in, and Lever to get the ideal small forward matchup. Alongside Bowey and Salem. Then There's not much space on the list I suppose for a specialist small defender

Seriously, how brutal is footy at this highest level!? Really feel for these blokes as they watch Gawn & Co swing the Premiership Cup all over Perth.

All the de-listings look fair enough to me. Vanders might get another gig, but personally I think he is just below AFL standard.

Nev has always been a fave of mine, after a long conversation with him at a club family day when he was coming off shoulder surgery. It is difficult to quantify what he has brought to the Dees considering all his off-field stuff. But I LOVED his footy. Tough as old boots, more skilful than many people gave him credit for, a real team player, and played on all the annoying little mosquito forwards trying to do fancy stuff.

Would think vanders gets a gig somewhere, would be a good fit at the suns

Sydney wanted him a couple of years ago. He turned down an offer from them.

whats said about every mature age player to ever leave a list since 2011

probably the only position they have a stack of is inside mids. i think its wishful thinking that he'd get another go with other inside mids constable, dunstan, brodie, blakely, sier also on the market but best of luck to him none-the-less.

i had such high hopes for bradtke its a shame he never kicked on, and nietschke is the unluckiest player i've seen come through the MFC. lockhart extremely stiff but we've found a couple of young jets recently but he can certainly to a job on another list somewhere where he's more likely to get a look in. best of luck to all the lads ❤️

Ahhh what an up and down year it’s been for the old stalwarts of this club. Dragging us through the tough times to see us finally make it on the big stage to be shown the door the next.

Loved Neville, he is back pocket royalty. He had a period of 2-3 years where he was one of the best in the game week in, week out. He’s apparently even better off the field. Kudos Neville, the Dees faithful love you.

Jetta absolutely took the opportunity to get better when Paul Roos came in. He looked lost for a few years as did his team mates. Although the game past him this year he was one of our best small defenders for a very very long time and will never be forgotten by us.

Jones, Jetta, melks and vanders gone and a few others. There’s been so much talk about having a good spine to be a great football team. Our older players in that spine is may, Gawn and brown.
For me that’s what we now focus on replacing.
Lever will continue doing lever stuff.

Tomlinson is 28 so replacing may eventually isn’t it for the long run so we need someone else prepping for it. Petty lever and someone to eventually replace may. Will be the new core.

Jackson to replace Gawn? But who replaces Jackson? That type of player in Jackson is hard to find and don’t come often. For me it’s solely replacing Gawn so Jackson can continue to do his thing and incase he decides to leave .

someone to replace brown and tmac. Can weid replace tmac? Unsure.

Also a young version of hibbo would be perfect and no bowey is not it. Different type of player.

Yes we just won a premiership and bloody oath we take it but I still hope we do think of these things. If I am, then they definitely are because they do know more than me.

maybe we have a trade in mind in the next couple of years pending on other players contracts from other teams. Because every where else around the ground seems to be great age wise.

Tall backs: May, Petty, Tomlinson, Turner*
Medium backs: Lever, J Smith, Hore*
Small backs: Salem, Rivers, Bowey, Hibberd*, Hunt, D Smith

Inside mids: Oliver, Petracca, Viney, Harmes, Sparrow
Outside mids: Langdon, Brayshaw, Jordon, Declase*, Baker*, Rosman
Rucks: Gawn, Jackson, Daw*

Key forwards: B Brown, McDonald, Weid, M Brown*
Medium: Fritsch, Melksham*
Small: ANB, Pickett, Spargo, Laurie, Bedford*, Chandler*

Mitch Brown, Baker and maybe Bedford are the 3 who might be the most under pressure.

Apart from Vanders they are all young enough to go back to VFL level and show they have got something. Being delisted by the Premiers is not a black mark. Could easily see Lockhart picked up.

Wonder of there's any legs in the Maynard rumour of a little while ago?

Surprised by Lockhart feel like at his age and what he has shown so far he would be able to keep a spot, even if we draft 4 players to the senior list we will still have more spots to fill at this rate. Who is coming in to fill those
