Caleb Daniel would like his time again when the Doggies were 19 points up halfway through the 3rd, after dumping Max over the boundary line then standing over him giving  our champion skipper an earful

Thanks Caleb 15 goals to 1 after that, you shouldn’t count your chickens before they’re hatched

    16 goals to 1 goal. It was rubbish umpiring that should have awarded Gawn a free kick. But [censored] you Daniel. We rubbed your nose in it.

    Max played it up a bit but the tackle certainly went on. Not sure it really played a role.

    But Viney hit the next stoppage hard, forced the ball our way. Bailey Smith fumbled it to Harmes and the rest was history.

    How does one “play up” having their head slammed in to the turf in a sling tackle? He must have drawn the graze that was visible for the rest of the game on his forehead on with a red sharpie.

    Bewildering not to be called as a dangerous tackle.

    I reckon he should be cited for that sling tackle anyway. Not 4 weeks like they gave ANB but deserves at least a week. Guarantee you if it was a big player against a runt like him, it would have been a free and put under review by the MRP.

    Speaking of such things, wasn't there a head high bump by their #4 on Oliver(?) early in the match.  Need to see replay.

    Not the turning point. More just funny, but Daniel’s sure gonna feel a wee bit silly this morning I’d say. A bad case of premature standover aggression.

    Gawn went down easy looking for the free kick. Players risk their safety to draw free kicks all the time. It probably should’ve been paid but he definitely exaggerated it

    Maxy said to Goody leave him in the ruck, that what got us going the drive he gave us out of the centre bounces. Jacko is like the tallest ruckrover/ruckman in the league. He is so good below his knees.

    That desperate Brayshaw diving mark and goal was a big turning point, as was Fritta’s clutch goal to stop the bleeding.

    Moving Dogga to the ruck was the game changer. Martin was playing the man and not the ball while Max was rucking. Dogga taking ruck duties screwed their tactic of nullifying Max's influence at clearances.

    The turning point was the last quarter in Geelong. There was something special about that game. It felt preordained when Max kicked that goal after the siren.

    From 3/4 time in Geelong we outscored our opponents by 232 points across the following 13 quarters. That’s 3 goals better per quarter than our opponents. A stunning 4 games to finish the season. There’s never been a better time to support the club than the last 4.

    They didn’t know what to do. We taken the AA ruck man out of the center bounce and the guy we put in there played like a ruck rover. How can you prepare for that? When the dogs were stunned and didn’t know why - it was too late. Jackson snuck up on them. He was roving his own ball, and as a side that planned their midfield around Gawns dominance, the bullies simply didn’t adapt in time. Jackson essentially turned the game of football on its head.

    Agree. We have played like the Geelong game ever since. If we go back and watch our last game, and this game, it’s a continuation. Not just the trend of winning, but absolutely pulverizing the opposition. That Geelong game given us the confidence that we needed. We pretty much blew the finals apart.

    I disagree with ALL of the above. The real turning point was before the opening bounce, when the Bulldogs ribbon slipped down to the bottom of the Premiership Cup’s handle as it was being moved from the back of the ute to the table.

    That 100 to 7 point final 40 minutes wasn’t bad icing on the cake either.

      A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

      Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
