Also, Gerard Whately's call seconds later when the ball sailed through - "it was up at Sparrow's and just kept going".

Great theatre.

I've been watching through the last 45 minutes with different radio commentaries.  The SEN was a good as I expected it to be (Whateley and Huddo are the best going around imo).  The 3AW one was actually better than I expected. Looking forward to watching more (ABC call up next).

One thing I've come to realise is just how good the Sparrow goal was (2nd last one of the third term).  In the ecstasy of the moment and the focus on the centre breaks, I hadn't grasped how good that kick was.  Off a step from 50m out.  Wonderful kick and great work by TMac on the line.  He will become a great weapon going forward.

It was a brilliant goal he had to receive the handball and kick off one step 50m+ m whilst 4 Bulldogs were trying to get him from all sides.

that third quarter, I just can't get enough. 3 goals inside a minute, not once but twice. holy [censored], put the game away. I love the look on the dogs players after Oliver kicks his goal, they are totally gobsmacked

No more will they be able to say, 'Oh, the Queen's Birthday is their Grand Final' or 'Anzac Eve is their Grand Final'. The Grand Final is our Grand Final.

Nah, just trying to find 'somewhere' to wedge in a $hite reference to his name from the run sheet.

I’d really enjoy reading this forum more if there weren’t ads in between telling me where I can find my “Asian sweetheart.” 😏

Nearly three weeks on - please tell me I am not dreaming.
Maybe I should watch the second half again (10th - 15th time) just to make sure. 🥰😍❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙😮

Haha - so I’m not only one who receives that  type of soliciting

Understandably after 63 pages, we're beginning to repeat ourselves.

But hell, why not?!

Just casually reading through this thread and whoops! I've accidentally watched the entire 2nd half again.

Well this is an easy fix.

I know. And filling in the forms is time consuming as well. I'm an Aries, I enjoy football etc

It’s great isn’t it? Sometimes I don’t even watch the play anymore during the replay, I’ll look at the background for players reactions to certain plays. Spargo is my fav, always on his own somewhere back there clapping, cheering, fist pumping. A bit of a funny moment is when he spots up Fritsch for his 5th he does this little hop in the air shortly before Fritta marks almost like he’s urging the ball to land in his arms.

I always got a smile on my dial watching Spargo during Hannans goal in 2018 during the elim against Geelong.
He's running parallel to Hannan and goes through the action of kicking the ball when he wants Hannan to kick it 😂❤️

They're not interested in that stuff.
You'd be better off cutting to the chase and stating your financial status.

Just the thought of dating dating purely on race seems almost racist. Isn’t it inside what counts? 😉

Umm, that sub money helps Andy keep the place going. I don’t think the ad revenue is that much really.

And ads these days - unless you have a VPN - is you get ads for things that reflect what you google or search for in FB and the like…

Just sayin’

“they are totally gobsmacked” That was the beginning of junk time. When we scored 2 goals in the first two minutes of the last quarter it was already an anti climax. 5 goals scored in 3 minutes of actual game time. The bulldogs were broken and no fight left.

Yeah, the inside of his wallet. According to @Fork 'em anyways. (See above.) 😁

I love the vision of Charlie just as the final siren sounds. It’s like it caught him unawares. 💕❤️💙

Three weeks later and I find I routinely still have to pinch myself. Talk about the afterglow!

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.

  • CASEY: Northern Bullants

The Casey Demons travelled to a windy Cramer Street, Preston yesterday and blew the Northern Bullants off the ground for three quarters before shutting up shop in the final term, coasting to a much-needed 71-point victory after leading by almost 15 goals at one stage. It was a pleasing performance that revived the Demons’ prospects for the 2025 season but, at the same time, very little can be taken from the game because of the weak opposition. These days, the Bullants are little more than road kill. The once proud club, situated behind the Preston Market in a now culturally diverse area, is currently facing significant financial and on-field challenges, having failed to secure a win to date in 2025.
